The longer the waterline on any boat, the better the directional stability, so yes, the 12-footer will track better. However, the cockpit is actually the same size between the two boats, so you may not really notice much of a difference comfort-wise. Also, keep in mind that with the larger boat, you will be wrangling an extra eight pounds on land; if you’re going to be dragging the boat on and off a car or to and from the shore often, that is something to consider as well.

This Kayak seems to be the exact model LL Bean calls the Manatee.
It also comes with a great fishing package and still less expensive than the price here. WE love ours and would definitely get another one. Very comfortable and easy handling.

Well, he won't have to worry about tipping as this is one of the most stable kayaks available...I think a short person with good balance could stand up in it, although I can't quite manage it. I've taken it out on the reservoir with huge power boat wakes and never tipped. The only problem might be the width, which requires a longer paddle (I use a 230 cm) and might be a stretch for a little guy. I think he could ride with you without a problem as long as you are under the weight limit-this boat also has one of the largest cockpits on the market.

The service I received from you was great! I ordered my Perception Prodigy kayak over the phone to make sure I got everything right, and the person I talked to was very helpful. It was a pleasure talking to him. The kayak came so fast all the way from Utah to Georgia, I couldn't believe it - 4 days! The Prodigy is exactly what I wanted for me and my Golden Retriever. The large cockpit is plenty big enough for both of us. Again, excellent service and price and a great product. I will definitely recommend you to other outdoor friends. Thanks
