The Perception Carolina Series Kayaks' stable designs and comfortable seats make them great for day trips or overnighters. Everyone from first-timers to advanced paddlers on multi-day trips find a reason to love these fun, sturdy boats. The 12-foot junior boat works well for younger paddlers who weigh up to 120 pounds, and the regular 12-foot kayak maneuvers easily for day trips on the lake. The 14-foot length easily holds all the gear an experienced boater needs for a weekend trip. Water-tight, dual-density hatches (on the 14ft length) keep your gear dry and easily accessible. Each of these Perception kayaks provides a stable ride that won't make you end up in the drink if you sneeze too hard.

Bottom Line: The Perception Carolina Series Kayak provides excellent stability and handling on everything from day adventures to overnights.

I really like the Carolina. Its my first kayak and have really enjoyed it so far. I wish I would have gotten one with a rudder though. Couldn't beat the price though.

The Go-To of kayaks

I've paddled a bunch of Carolinas and always have had fun in them. This boat is so versatile and easy to paddle. It's stable and it tracks well. It is made out of a durable plastic so I didn't worry about bashing it on rocks when pulling into shore. I like the hatches, store my food and extra clothes for day trips in there. My only complaint about this boat is that the cockpit seems a little small for someone that is 6 feet tall with long legs.

The Carolina 14 footer has served me for many, many miles of paddling on the Green and Colorado rivers. It is stable enough to kneel and access the gear in back while floating, or just kick back and let your feet dangle in river and watch the tamarisk drift by. Yet, it's aslo sleek enough that when the afternoon headwinds pickup, you'll get to camp before the bullfrogs start croakin' without doing any yourself. The only thing that I didn't like was that the bulkheads began leaking after about a year, but some silicone caulk has fixed that. It was probably from some off the rough roads I have bounced this boat down in the years of service it has given me.
