If you're ready to concede that it's now too cold outside for summer-weight jerseys, but you're not yet willing to go for a full winter jacket and don't approve of the extra bulk and restrictive cuffs of arm warmers, Pearl Izumi's Long Sleeve Symphony Jersey will be music to your ears.

For 2014, the Symphony Jersey has seen a radical redesign, losing the insulating Elite Thermal Fleece of previous editions in favor of the cooling In-R-Cool material. In-R-Cool does what you might expect — keeps you cool while also maximizing moisture management. Given these properties, you might consider staying towards the top half of Pearl Izumi's recommended temperature range of 40 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you do manage to overheat in the Symphony Jersey, though, the full-length zipper lets you dump excess heat in a hurry. The zipper also has a garage for storage at the collar. Three back pockets provide storage for ride essentials like spare tubes and knit gloves, and reflective highlights help keep you visible in low-light conditions.

The Women's Long Sleeve Pearly Izumi Symphony Jersey is available in six sizes ranging from X-Small to XX-Large in the colors Blue Haze and Purple Haze.

Perfect hot weather jersey

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

The jersey keeps you cool as long as you are moving. I've wore this from Florida to Maine, in temps 70 degrees plus with high humidity and I still stay cool. In fact, if it too cool out, the jersey is too cold to wear. Two friends have tried it out and purchased ones for themselves. It really works.
