If you're looking for shoes that'll keep your feet secure on mountain bike rides without the price tag that comes with super stiff carbon soles, grab the Pearl Izumi Women's Quest MTB Mountain Bike Shoes. Pearl Izumi made these mountain bike shoes with high-performance, vented nylon soles. The synthetic heel lining and three hook-and-loop straps work together to keep your foot on lockdown, and leather and mesh uppers vent heat during your long rides. The Quest MTB Shoes' high-traction lug tips grip terrain on your off-bike crossings.

Bottom Line: Your quest for solid, non-bank-robbing mountain bike shoes stops here.

If you are going to use for MTB, you clearly will need a shoe like this one with a tread. Unfortunately that will hinder your spin workout a bit b/c MTB shoes are lots heavier. But, you can certainly do it - I'd just look at the lightest inexpensive MTB shoe you can find if you're set on having a shoe for double duty. Sidi is the best brand in my opinion and will give you high-end features in their MTB shoes, but you'll be 100% ok with pretty much anything on this site in terms of quality for the occasional ride. My suggestion would be to get a really inexpensive pair of road shoes if you spin indoors often - you'll be glad you did (just don't take them on dirt).

Pretty much any shoe that uses an SPD cleat (and this is almost any MTB shoe) will work at a spin class. Buy a shoe that you would for mountain biking anyway and you have killed 2 birds with 1 stone.

Yes, these will work with your SPD pedals. SPD cleats will work with any modern 2-Hole MTB system.

yes they are pink - I just bought them and liked the color too, but they are not very stiff so I'm sending htem back. If you're a casual rider they'll work just fine and they will be comfortable, but if you need a stiffer sole for power transfer this one is not going to give you much support.

These shoes are just fine for spinning. The main difference between a road and a mountain bike shoe are the stiffness. Think of road shoes as walking on solid planks, while the MTB shoes have a little bit of flex so that you can actually walk. The most important thing is making sure you get the cleats that are compatible with the spinning bikes. If you are responsible to bring your own pedals and change them out yourself, you'll want both of these:http://www.backcountry.com/store/CRN0010/Crank-Brothers-Candy-C-Pedals.htmlhttp://www.backcountry.com/store/PAR0015/Park-Tool-Professional-Pedal-Wrench.html
