If you have a marathon planned for this spring, make sure to don the Pearl Izumi Men's Phase Running Short to stay comfy on your long training runs. The lightweight stretch woven shell moves with you through each mile while the stretch support liner offers a comfortable, secure fit. Pearl Izumi gave the Phase Running Short Direct-Vent front and back vents to keep you cool when you work hard. A partial side split lets you move easily without exposing your whole upper thigh.
Bottom Line: The Pearl Izumi Phase Running Short's lightweight material keeps you light on your feet while you train.
For the most part they do their job. Plyable, well-ventilated, quick drying. There is only one small pocket in the back which is big enough for your house-key. They're fine in the gym, but I wouldn't take 'em trail running.

This is an odd pair of shorts. The material is nice and seems durable and there are vents around the waist to let the heat out. That is about all the positive I can give these. The stitching where the shorts come together at the crotch is horrible. The spot where all the pieces of the shorts come together is stacked up about the size of a small pea, which does not seem like much, but you'll notice it. They also rode up the entire time I wore them. I have other PI's which I love, but these are not to be used unless you are into being annoyed.
Ditto to the previous reviews about these shorts. The inner brief is SNUG! Otherwise, they are well made, dry quickly, and have good ventilation due to the vent flaps.
I have spent the last twelve months using these shorts, best ever. I run between 16-30 miles a week winter and summer and also use these shorts in the gym. They are just the right length and the fabric does not chaff and still looks as good as the day i bought them. Super comfortable true size and still plenty of life left in them yet.
I have been runing all year round for about 30 years and these are by far the most comfortable shorts i have ever worn THE BACK POCKET is ideall for car/door keys, the fit is perfect, not to tight or loose. Wether i am running out in the desert heat or cold UK winter these shorts fit the bill perfectly. Buy em today, infact buy two pairs.
I spend approx 8 hours a week in the gym between teaching group exercise classes and my own personal workouts and these shorts fit the bill. The sizing is correct, I have a 31 inch waste and the medium actually fits an opposed to other shorts where a medium is a large size and the material is durable, breathes well and stretches to accommodate any exercise or training I am performing.
Not great shorts, but good. They fit fine, wicked and dried fine, nothing special, but definitely good. The one negative I have to say is the snug fit of the liner. Wow! Holds you in really tight! Otherwise nothing wrong with the short. The Sugoi 42K are better overall running shorts.
Cool shorts, well made. The vent flaps are good idea. The problem I have with them is the inner brief. It is tight, be aware. The outer short is perfect in size and length for a "large", but the inner brief is more like a "medium".
It may be alright for guys who like their package held tight, but "free spirits" should shy away from these.
I really like these shorts. They breathe well, good fit, and I'm considering buying another pair or two... In regards to other posts, there is a tiny pocket that fits my key just fine (it's in the inside rear)... as for snugness, though I'm not a very big gent (5'9", 145lbs), I haven't had any troubles with them being too snug (better than the other direction it could go (too loose)).

Super uncomfortable - lining in the PI Phase shorts ride high and tight, even after cutting out the lining they were still tight and awkward feeling. more...
