P.R.O. Leader Bib Short - Men's

New for 2010 is Pearl Izumi’s P.R.O. Leader bib short. The P.R.O. Leader bibs take the lessons learned from the Garmin-Transitions team bibs where Pearl Izumi’s P.R.O. Aero fabric provides an aerodynamic edge. Imagine a fabric that cuts drag by 15 percent and what that could do for you when your nose is in the wind.

The P.R.O. Aero fabric has a rippled surface to reduce drag and speed the flow of air over the body. Think of it as Lycra’s answer to the golf ball. P.R.O. Aero fabric gets In-R-Cool™ treatment to hasten the movement of perspiration away from your body, keeping you cooler as you ride.

P.R.O. Transfer fabric makes up the rest of the bibs and provides incredible form-following stretch while maintaining fatigue-delaying compression. Both materials get Pearl Izumi’s coldblack technology, yet another fabric treatment, this one engineered to reduce the surface temperature of the fabric by as much as 35 degrees in direct sunlight. The upshot? You stay cooler, allowing your body to work more efficiently.

The best feature of these bibs is hidden from view. Pearl Izumi’s 4D Chamois features four layers of padding (13mm thick) sculpted according to Pearl Izumi’s PRT (pressure relief technology) to increase comfort and blood flow, while minimizing pressure on sensitive tissues. The pre-shaped pad features a dramatic curve to it in order to follow the natural contours of your undercarriage as closely as possible. The breathable pad also features four-way stretch technology to make it follow your movements with no binding or chafing.

Silicone leg grippers keep the legs of the bibs from riding up and flatlock stitching provides a smooth seam for optimal durability and comfort. To keep the bib as lightweight and breathable as possible, it is cut from Direct-Vent mesh.
