Ride through anything.
It's been said that you can't please all of the people all of the time. However, Pearl Izumi proved this to be untrue when they made the Elite Thermal Barrier Cycling Bib Tights. Already offering the same winter protection in tights form, the Bib Tights will satisfy both the selective purist and those seeking total coverage from the cruelty of winter. Made from proprietary fabrics that absorb odor, wick moisture, and warm the body, the Elite Thermal Barrier Cycling Bib Tights will keep you pedaling through the winter's malevolent weather.
Pearl Izumi's Elite Thermal Barrier Cycling Bib Tights' panels are made from the exclusive Elite Thermal Fleece fabric. This fabric was strategically selected in order to ensure a hand-in-hand system of warming insulation and effective moisture transfer. The fabric selection and construction provide a consistent internal temperature, but for extra protection from the elements, the Elite Barrier fabric has been interspersed throughout for wind blocking coverage. Even as tights, the Thermals can be ventilated on-the-fly by opening an eight-inch lower leg zipper or its draft flap. To keep you riding comfortably, the tights feature Izumi's anatomically designed Elite 3D Chamois. The chamois uses a variable density padding that's been pre-shaped to enhance blood flow. Additionally, its breathable four-way stretch material creates an abrasion-free surface that conforms to the body and moves moisture away.
To ensure a quality fit, the Thermal Barrier tights are cut to allow full leg articulation. The lower leg also follows a contoured shape that gives extra coverage over the top portion of the shoe. To hold everything in place, the tights use a silicone gripper at the ankle, and a mesh bib upper and straps. Pearl Izumi also added 360 degree reflective accents for safer night riding.
The Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Barrier Cycling Bib Tights are available in sizes from Small to X-Large, and in the color Black/black.

lovely but don't size on waist alone
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
SIZING: the sizing chart says a small is a 29-31.5" waist. i happily selected it, as my waist is at the lower end of that range. the UPS man came and lo, i did rejoice. but verily, i tried to pull the garment on and found it nearly impossible! at 5'8" and 150, the small was too long at the bottom and too unforgiving to coax itself around my calves and hindquarters, which understanding friends tell me are larger than some. turns out my hip measurement is a medium on pearl izumi?s sizing chart. you need to take that measurement into account, as the thermal barrier fabric does not stretch.
TEMPERATURE RATING: the label rates this at around 30F to 50F. for me, it is too warm for anything approaching 50. my test ride was not my intended use of the product; i rode on a 51F day with 9 mph wind and was sweating profusely.
OVERALL: i ordered the next size up. these are the warmth and frontal wind protection i'll need in the coming months. i may update this later after the bigger size arises.
