Pearl Izumi’s Elite In-R-Cool Tri Shorts are designed for those sometimes-hellish races that take place in summer’s hottest months. They’re treated with Coldblack, a treatment that reflect’s the sun’s rays, and reduces the amount of heat transferred to the skin, which helps keep you cooler.

Additionally, the Transfer fabric that makes up the shorts wicks moisture to both keep you col and reduce the likelihood of chafing. This is handy for both human-produced moisture (sweat) and environment-produced moisture (lake water). At the core of the shorts is the Pearl Izumi TRI quick-dry chamois. It’s purpose-built for triathlons, so it dries quickly, is plenty supportive on the bike, and won’t feel awkward or out of place while you’re running.
