    Spin away.

Spin classes and short rides don't always necessitate standard cycling bibs or shorts, and if you find yourself wanting a pair of shorts that you can leave on without feeling restricted during your post-spin yoga class, the Pearl Izumi Women's ELITE Escape Cut Shorts would be a versatile addition to your workout wardrobe. They're made with Pearl's ELITE 3D Chamois, so you'll still be protected by plush multi-density cushioning and breathable fabric if you wear the shorts on road rides.

For indoor workouts, ELITE Transfer In-R-Cool fabric's nylon and Lycra construction give the shorts a contoured fit that will stay in place as you tackle grueling interval sets, and — as the fabric's name suggests — it swiftly pulls moisture away from your skin to keep you cool, even when you get to the gym late and miss out on a bike close to the fans. The shorts are finished with a wide, soft waistband, which suits them well to other gym workouts and helps eliminate irritation while you're stretched out over the bars.

    WOW do these run small!!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

I'm a big fan of the Pearl Izumi Sugar Short--I have 5 pairs in my rotation and they've been my favorite cycling shorts for years. I was looking to move up a line in Pearl Izumi shorts as I prepare to go on longer rides this year. Love the style and shorter inseam of these shorts, but despite the other reviews saying these run small I was sure I'd be fine with my normal size. The shorts arrived today and the Elite chamois is definitely a step up from what I'm used to in the Sugars, however I'm going to need a size up from my normal. I was able to get these on, but they wouldn't be comfortable to ride in. If you're a Sugar fan looking at these, for sure size up!

    Very Small

These shorts run extremely small. I have another pair of Pearl Izumi bike shorts in size small, and thought I could get away with ordering the same size for these. I couldn't even get them past mid-thigh! I ended up returning them but had I wanted to exchange for a new size, I probably would need to get a large.

    LOVE these amazing, wonderful shorts!

Finally found a pair of bike shorts with a wonderful cushion! I bike up in MA and NH (hills!) 4 times per week; minimum ride 20 - 40 miles each time. I might as well throw my other bike shorts away, since I never use them any longer. Good bye saddle sores!

    Did I even bike?

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

Honestly, these shorts make me feel lazy. It's not that I put down a ton of miles, but enough that my tush typically would have been sore the next day. So when I was pain free, I felt like maybe I didn't bike hard enough or far enough. But then I remembered the amazing 3D chamois and how it felt like I was sitting on a plush, fluffy cloud. Yet again, my Gearhead Zach helped me pick out awesome gear. I was torn between the Escape Cut Shorts and the normal Escape Shorts, but I decided to show a little thigh and go with the Cut Shorts, which are the same, just shorter and without the little pocket that's on the longer version. Now it's time to tone and tan my powdered-donut-winter legs in the comfort of these shorts! I also ordered Shebeast shorts from another vendor, because they had superb reviews, however, they were so uncomfy I couldn't return them fast enough. They squeezed in all the wrong places, cutting across my tummy and thighs. No thank you. The Escape shorts have a lovely wide waste band that doesn't slice your muffin top and the legs also do not cut into your thighs. Love these shorts! FYI only, I ordered these because I have the Elite Thermal Cycling Pants with the 3D chamois and wanted shorts with the same chamois. I'm a small in the pants and a medium in the shorts.
