Sugar Shorts for men
Just when you thought the man-kini was a distant memory for all but the most elite of swimmers, you joined a master's swim group full of triathletes. While cyclists are oddly proud of their various tan lines, triathletes always seem to minimize them whenever possible -- to this end the smaller the swimwear, the easier the quest. It's a bit harder to keep tanlines in check while riding though. No one wants to see you in all your glory climbing the nearest peak barely dressed. Your nether regions wouldn't be so pleased either. Pearl Izumi's Elite In-R-Cool shorts feature a short inseam, but it's not so short as to be embarrassing when you're not racing.
Pearl Izumi's Elite series is the middle tier of its triathlon line of apparel. It features many of the same technologies that are found in the PRO tier at a price that makes even triathlon affordable. Pearl Began by using its Elite Transfer In-R-Cool fabric for the body. This is a synthetic blend that wicks moisture away from your skin to keep you cool and dry. Additionally, it is treated with Coldblack. Coldblack reflects the sun's infrared heat rays, significantly reducing heat absorption. In fact, the differences between fabrics with Coldblack and those without it are staggering. Those with Coldblack reflect up to 80% of the sun's radiant energy, while those without it absorb up to 90%. Incidentally, it also blocks UV rays at a minimum of protection level of 30 UPF. Direct-vent panels help to vent additional heat for those long rides in the blazing sun.
A cycling short doesn't do much good unless it has an adequate insert. The Elite 3D Chamois features variable density padding, up to 13mm, in three layers to provide support for your sit bones and cushioning for soft tissue. It is pre-shaped and features a four-way stretch that continues to adjust to your body. The breathable cover helps to move moisture away from your skin. Pressure Relief Technology (PRT) provides a relief channel so that blood flow along the perineal region is not compromised. Finally, Pearl Izumi employs the use of carbon yarns. And while this might sound like something out of a science fiction movie, carbon has been shown to improve thermoregulation and reduce static induced fatigue.
The Elite In-R-Cool Shorts feature flat lock seams stitched with double needles for added durabilty. the leg openings are double-folded fabric for non-binding comfort. Finally, reflective elements have been added for those days when your ride brings you home after dark.
Pearl Izumi's Elite In-R-Cool Cut Shorts have a 7-inch inseam (size medium). They are available in sizes Small through XX-Large and in the color Black.
