The cooling effect is nice; as these are the first "running" socks I've bought, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Here are the pros: they're comfy, cushiony and venting. cons: they're a little small; i almost suggest you go up one size bigger. The only other thing I don't like about them is that the seam seems to run right over my toes; a pet peeve of mine.

I normally like Pearl Izumi gear but not these. They run small and the toe seams are annoying. The ends of the toe seams are inconsistently manufactured. I've already thrown away one of the socks in this 3-pack because the toe seam ended in a knot of fabric you just can't have in your shoe!
