Ready to take the heli trip of a lifetime? Make sure to score yourself a pair of Peak Performance’s Heli Gore-Tex Soft Shell Pants before you climb aboard the chopper. Unlike other softshell fabrics that are water-resistant only, the Helis come with Gore-Tex Soft Shell, which is guaranteed to keep you dry.
- Like traditional hardshell fabric, Gore-Tex Soft Shell fabric is guaranteed to be waterproof and breathable, but it is also slightly stretchy, soft to the touch, and more pliable
- Soft, micro-grid fleece liner is comfortable, wicks away sweat, and adds a small amount of insulation
- Detachable stretch bibs add warmth, keep the pants up, and come with a front pocket for your avalanche beacon
- Articulated knees mimic the normal anatomical shape of your legs, allow for a more comfortable fit, and provide greater freedom of movement as compared to a standard, straight design
- Leg cuffs are reinforced with a highly durable fabric for increased protection from sharp ski edges and crampons
- Recco reflector may help ski patrol in the event of a slide
- Backcountry.com is the exclusive US retailer for Peak Performance products
Bottom Line: Ride to the top.

Every year I'm on the search for a pant and jacket that I'm totally happy with and every year I settle for something mediocre and sell it off the following year. Well this season, my search has finally ended. These Peak Heli Softshell pants are just about PERFECT!!
The criteria I look to fill:
- Technical fabrics for the wet.
- Something that fits well at 6'2", 195 lbs, wear 32/34 jeans. This is where I have the hardest time. Larges tend to fit to short and XLs fit to fat/boxy.
- Something with some style and color, also the added comfort of Softshell helps.
First off, these pants fit AMAZINGLY. I went with XL for some baggyness with good shape, could have done L for a more fitted look. As far as I can tell, Peaks come with the longest inseams and smaller waist sizes relative to any other brand, so great for us taller/slimmer folk.
Super nice fabric, soft/stretchy outer, great colors.
I never thought I would dig the bib, feel like with most would overheat due to the extra coverage, but wearing it around, I like it and very breathable mesh top component.
Excellent features including the Pant/Jacket interface that works very well and the long side zips from hip-mid calf.
Expensive, yes, but do yourself a favor, and SPLURGE. These are worth it, unbeatable by anything else out there.
Don't want Gore Softshell, go with the Heli Pro Shells.
