The Patagonia Men's Wool 4 Bottoms are made to keep your legs warm during stop-and-go activities like hut skiing, ice climbing, or mountaineering. Patagonia chose merino wool for its natural odor-resisting qualities, and its exceptional durability. The Patagonia Wool 4 Bottoms are highly insulative when they're wet. Stash some energy bars in the small, zippered hip pockets in the Wool 4 Bottoms—their forward placement makes for easy access under a harness or hip-belt.

Bottom Line: On frigid days insulate with the Patagonia Wool 4 Bottoms.

ARC0372

I also bought the Arc'teryx ARC0372 boot cut base layer pants. I wore the Patagonia pants under the exact same conditions -- skiing in Colorado. I preferred the Arc'teryx pants because they were closer fitting and shorter length. I believe the pants were fairly equal in warmth under just my uninsulated Gore-tex XCR shell bibs. I will buy another pair.

I have been converted to wool. I love these pants. They are great for touring around on cold days or just being lazy in. They seem to transfer moister well. I use these as a base layer. You will like these pants.
