Travel to a darker place.

If your winter travels take you to places where the sun is short-lived, like Norway, Iceland, or Alaska then the Patagonia Winter Sun Softshell Jacket has 100grams of PrimaLoft Eco insulation to retain a bit of warmth for your wanderings.
  • After a ten-year hiatus, Patagonia reunited with Gore-Tex to offer waterproof breathable fabrics and the earth-friendly technical simplicity youve come to expect from Patagonia
  • Water-resistant WindStopper fabric provides protection from wet weather and extreme mountain winds
  • 100g PrimaLoft Eco insulation provides lightweight, compressible warmth, and the Eco insulation is helping to save those far northern winter environments one jacket at a time
  • Low-profile cuffs on the wrists keep water from running down your arms when you are climbing steep mixed ice and snow
  • Three-way adjustable helmet-compatible hood with a laminated visor to direct rain and snow away from your face in inclement weather
  • Cord locks in the hood and hem to seal out rain and snow
  • Recyclable through Patagonias Common Threads Garment recycling program

I ordered this as a lightly insulated ski jacket. It has been great for spring skiing in Utah. It is warm and really light.

Got the 2011 model for christmas this year and I really like it. Blocks wind supurbly, its very warm fro synthetic, a lot lighter than I expected, and looks great. I have not had any major problems with breathability, but i have noticed my wrists start to sweat at the cuffs- not sure if this is just me but overall a fantastic product

I've used this jacket for the past 2 winters as my insulted ski jacket and have been pleased. It's windproof and very warm. It kept me toasty on a January ski trip in Jackson Hole for reference. I have been hesitant to really test its waterproofness since it's not marketed as being waterproofed but the DWR seems to work well in the light rain/snow I've had it in.
