Patagonia WeatherShed Max Rolling Gear Bag - 2007 BCS

Love this bag - it's exactly what other bags out there don't do. Like any duffel it is cavernous and does not have any pre-defined pockets, sections, etc. to hold you up. This actually maximizes the volume for my packing. The material is incredible -- tough nylon but stylish with a tight pattern.

Classic Patagonia quality with slick handle that still feels solid for the last year; SMOOTH wheels that are protected from side/shear impacts -- keeping the alignment straight and smooth; seriously tough zippers that keeps water out; and some simple add-ons like a small pocket for valuables, loops/snaps to attach additional bags, etc.

I'm an MLC, Burrito, Freewheeler owner -- the WeatherShed rounds out my entire collection perfectly.

Great suitcase for all types of travel on longer trips. I was looking for a rugged and easy to use suitcase to bridge the gap between my business travel luggage (short trips with suits) and my backback (serious adventures). I recently used it for a trip to Ireland/UK and it made my trip better by making it so easy to lug my stuff around...and keeping it dry. The only draw backs is it is a little heavier than stated in the spec (@13kg) and access to the main compartment is a little cumbersome to access compared to a traditionally design suitcase.

I was not impressed. This is VERY heavy bag. They lack compartment, forcing me to buy some organizing cubes & bags on top (adding cost & weight). The design and skin look really cool, but once I started using I noticed some design problem, such as the central opening (not as functional as I thought), location of the bottom buckle (after dragging on the floor it picks up every dirt & gavages on the road and jammed easily, plus it broke).
I noticed Patagonia dropped the Weather-shed product line - I think I know why.
