    It's time to stop over-stuffing your carry-on.

After you've been dinged at the airport more than once for trying to sneak on the plane with a carry-on that's stuffed to the point that it doesn't fit in the overhead bins anymore, it's time to consider finding something roomier. The Patagonia's 60L Transport Roller Bag offers 3661 cubic inches of space so you have plenty of room to bring everything you need on your trip, and still have room to fit items you might pick up during your travels. Yes, you'll have to check it, but it will make your travels so much easier in every other way.

The Transport features an aluminum frame that expands to protect packed items inside, and collapses once you've unpacked it so you can stow it in a tight spot (like under the bed) at home. Four zippered internal pockets in the main compartment keep items inside organized, and compression straps control the volume of your load. One of the zippered internal pockets is mesh, and the bag's smooth polyester lining is light in color so you can easily find items inside. A zippered outer pocket is the perfect spot for smaller items that you'd like to get to quickly.

The Transport's telescoping handle can be pulled out to either 38 or 40 inches so you can choose a preferred length, and its smooth-rolling wheels stay as steady on rough dirt roads as airport walkways. The bag features carry handles on the top and sides for easy handling, while its burly back runners protect it from wear and tear, and its durable recycled PET fabric stands up to years of use.

    • 900D recycled PET twill with 200D polyester lining

    • Four zippered internal pockets (one mesh) and compression straps

What do you think about this product?

    Have questions about this product?

Very robust but too small for my needs.

    • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it

Very solidly built - typical Patagonia quality and more -- but too big to carry on (as the decription says) and at 3660 cu in only a bit larger than my 3000 cu in carry on. If that doesn't bother you it is a nice bag. I found the internal frame finicky. If it had been bigger I would not have returned (the size of 25" quoted above is not quite accurate, I measured the piece and got about 23x15x10+ where permitted UA carry on is 22x14x9).

    Great Bag!!!

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Originally bought this bag because it was not made in China and I thought it had a good chance of not smelling. The last suitcase I purchased literally had to off-gas a year before I could use it -- the smell was that awful. I did air this bag out two days outside just in case--NO SMELL!

We packed it and hauled it all over France and Germany for two weeks. It was perfect. Any bigger, and it wouldn't have fit in our rental car "trunk" area. The rectangular shape is easier to manage on a train than a square shape (of a bag we used the time before). It holds a LOT of stuff (we also had our toddler, so we had more than usual). The hard side protects the fragile items.

Then in October I took it to New Zealand and Australia. Many other bags in our group were damaged. This bag was not. It looks the same. The multiple grab handles were very handy. They are sturdy. The bag this replaced in our household has three broken handles. I think this 60L will hold up better. I was happy enough with the pocket arrangement, and one hard shell side is nice especially on these long haul trips. The hard shell had zero cracking on the corners and otherwise. The sides were completely intact. Many other bags on that trip had crushed corners or sides.

In short, I am delighted with this purchase, and hope it holds up over the long haul as well as it has begun. I think the odds are in my favor :)
