Description

Rain, rain, go away.

Hiking in the rainforest brings all sorts of surprises, like the sudden downpours that turn trails into muddy slides— stay protected from the rain with the Torrentshell Women’s Pant. Waterproof breathable fabric with an H2No barrier and DWR finish keeps water from soaking through, while zippered hand-warmer pockets make a sheltered haven for frozen fingers. A zipper from knee to ankle fits over bulky boots, and an elastic waistband with an internal drawcord allows for quick wardrobe changes.

Love these pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I purchased these pants on a whim as an outer layer for cross country skiing. They work perfectly for it as it wicks away water, the water proof has held up for me very well. I also use these pants to go running on days that it's raining or heavy wet snow.

Short and not breathable

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The legs run short, so they're not ideal for biking where you have to constantly bend your knee.

It's nice that the velcro cinches down really small, though.

They don't breathe well at all, and I wonder what the point is if I'm going to be soaked from the inside anyway after a 10 minute ride and stuck sitting in an office feeling cold and clammy. And I'm not even a heavy sweat-er!

Linda, I know the Men's version does so I am thinking these should be the same. According to their website they have a self-fabric hook-and-loop closure at ankle.

Pant leg opening

The pant leg opening on the medium is 7.5 inches, the zipper extends up the pant 14 inches.

Good quality but seriously tapered legs

The Patagonia H2No waterproof/breathable fabric is awesome, but I ended up returning these pants due to the aggressively tapered legs: the legs taper to quite a narrow opening that was a very tight fit to zip over hiking boots and pretty darn unflattering.
