Why We Like the Tech Web Belt

We prefer our pants to stay up while we’re navigating technical terrain with a heavy pack on our back, so we cinch up with the Tech Web Belt. The low-profile fit and burly construction sits discreetly under our hipbelt while being ready to act as an emergency gear strap when we’re in a pinch.

I like this belt because it stays tight. I had to cut around 4 inches off.

not well thought out

okay belt. very sturdy. Maybe a bit too sturdy. It has very thick webbing and a largish buckle. The webbing end is flat and thick. Most belts cut a bevel in the end so it can be threaded into the buckle more easily. Surprised Patagonia didn't do this.

Won't Be Disappointed

I purchased one of these belts last year on a chance as I have found other similar style belts generally slip. Since I purchased the belt I have bought two others. These belts are great. The buckle mechanism which is a single cast piece of metal with cast in place teeth and no moving parts. The teeth lock firmly on the quality nylon belt webbing giving you a snug and firm fit. The only issue I have with the belt - which is to be expected with a one-size-fits-all - is that it is a little long for me. My waist size is 33'. I easily shortened the belt with a tool called a hot knife which is used for cutting synthetic fabrics, dock lines, etc. The hot knife fuses the belt end to match the factory cut and prevents the webbing from fraying. All in very happy with this belt.

The belt would not hold for me. It kept slipping which negated my purpose of keeping my pants up.
