A relaxed fit makes it easy to layer a sweater under the Synchilla Snap-T.

Best Fleece Pullover

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

Very nice jacket with typical Patagonia high quality workmanship and details. Runs large, relaxed fit. Great everyday, around town fleece...not good with gusty wind.

If I could wear this everyday, I would

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

If your favorite blanket and sweatshirt had a baby.....that would just be weird, but this would be the closest thing to it! Insanely comfortable and warm, the classic styling never lets you down while looking good. Fits true to size. Pull this thing over your head and you will never want to take it off.

Great purchase

We got it for our college student. He really loved it. Great quality and very warm. Size was right. He is wearing Medium and Medium size was perfect.

What is the center back length of a medium?

Timeless, classic, cozy

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Two of my nephews recently celebrated birthdays and so I picked up the Patagonia Synchilla Snap-T Fleece for both. They are in college and huge Patagonia fans. They were super, super stoked with the fleece and already asking for the same style in another color for Christmas. Patagonia is a classic brand, with amazing quality and great design. This is a fantastic fleece and would be a perfect pick for you or anyone on your list this holiday!

My "go to" fleece

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

From going out for a night on the town to backpacking, these are my favorite. I have several in different colors. My oldest one is about 15 years old and it is still in great shape. Works great as a pillow while camping in the backcountry too!

I am 6 feet, 175 lbs and usually buy L in Patagonia, however the color that I was looking at in this is only available in XL, will it be a loose casual fit for me or will I be wearing a tent? I noticed that some people said it runs large...

Best Answer Responded on

Connor, I think you'll be happier with a large than an XL. Backcountry is constantly getting more of these in stock all the time, probably worth the wait.

Pretty sweet

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

I ordered an XL before I read the reviews on size. I am 6'2 195 and the XL is a little loose on me. It worked out because I am going to use this as a casual wear sweater but for those looking for a more tight body shaping fit go a size smaller. With that said I love it, great material and very comfortable.

Great pullover

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large

This pullover is designed to be large and loose. I had to return a Large and I am looking for a Medium. The double faced fleece is very soft and comfortable. It has 4 snaps at the neck so it is relatively easy to pull off, but loose enough to be comfortable and not too warm. I am 5'11" and usually wear Large in Patagonia but need Medium in this item.

Has the design or fit of the Snap-T range...

Has the design or fit of the Snap-T range changed. I have an old (10+ years) Snap-T that is up for replacement and am unable to try a sample one on. Should I be going down a size or sticking with the sizing on my present unit.

Responded on

Yes they fit differently. I have two old ones that although they are the same size, fit very differently. One was made in USA, one in Columbia. But this newest batch is all messed up. I ordered two of the new prints from the manufacturers website. If you will notice, they are not currently being offered on the company's website anymore, so they must have been made aware of the poor fit and construction by many people. They were much too small and I returned them with a note of my thoughts. I ordered a third new one from a different retailer. The fit on this one is better. But it is tight in the shoulders and has a lot of room in the belly. (clothing manufacturers must think Americans are REALLY fat, because everything is made bell-shaped nowadays.) There must be cheaper lycra in the cuffs and waist, because it doesn't stretch at all. Newest garment was made in Nicaragua. For a company that is supposed to be so environmentally conscious, I would really like to see what kind of shops these garments are made in. Why do you keep moving from country to country? Bring these jobs back to the USA.
If you look at the pic provided, you will see that the pattern does not match at the seam.
P.S. Stay away from the retro-x too if you have excema or sensitive skin. They say it's made from soda bottles. And I believe them.

Sorry to put you on blast like this P. But you asked for it.

Snap T video review

Patagonia designer Courtney Morgan shares her thoughts on the best selling Patagonia Snap T

Hi, I'm 5ft5, 160 lbs, 42" chest, 32" waist. What size should I order?

Responded on

I think a small might do it for you since the Snap T is a relaxed fit, but you're definitely close to needing a medium. Go small if you're ok w a little bit more of a snug fit, and medium if you won't mind it baggy and relaxed.

Responded on

Thanks Ty. Just got a small and it fits perfectly. You're right Snap T is a relaxed fit. I usually wear shirt size between medium and large because I have broad shoulder. But this Snap T Small fits me just right. Very comfy and warm fleece jacket. Might come back for more. :)

How does this fleece compare to Polartec...

How does this fleece compare to Polartec Classic 300 (ie a North Face Denali) in terms of thickness and fuzziness?

Best Answer Responded on

Hey,

In terms of thickness and performance, being the same weight fleece, it's going to be roughly the same. It's a little loose if you size it right, but it's not going to be anywhere near the overall bagginess of the Denali, which is especially huge in the arms. As stand-alone pieces, both are cold when the wind kicks up...like of no use at all. Nylon panels on the Denali add a little abrasion protection, but not so much in the insulation dept. Both pieces work best as a mid-layer under your shell...great insulation in that case, but the fit of the Synchilla under a shell makes it superior in my opinion. Hope this helps.

Comfort and Warmth

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got this fleece as a gift. I'm very impressed with the the fit, sleeves are perfect and it's not to long. Wasn't expecting it to be as warm as it is. Wore it in the mid 30's with a T-shirt and never got cold. I would have like to have hand pockets but no big deal. Size is medium and fits me perfect I'm 6'0" 165-170.

Great pullover

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got this as a gift a few weeks ago, no issues. A bit loose so a snug fleece can layer under it for extra cold weather. 5'9", 165lbs, got a medium and it is perfect.

Size

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

It is a very soft jacket. I ordered a medium, and it was too small for me. I am 6'1" and 180lbs, long arms, and the medium just didn't cut it.

Classic

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

One of the things Patagonia does extremely well is offer a broad range of fits, not just for different body types, but also for different uses and activities. The Synchilla Snap-T expresses this idea perfectly with its roomy fit and cozy feel. Sometimes you need a fleece that you can wear when you are in the outdoors or anywhere in cold weather that isn't as constrictive and form fitting as technical fleeces can be.

How is this jacket in terms of lint...

How is this jacket in terms of lint collection/ease of removal? I had an old North Face that I got rid of because it always had lint on it no matter what.

Best Answer Responded on

Hey John,

I recently picked up a Patagonia Finmark poly/wool blend jacket and I've been pretty happy with it. It picks up a bit of lint and pet hair, but it doesn't hold it too much. All fleeces pick up lint. It's just the nature of the fabric and the texture. The trick is to wash it, then put it in the dryer with a dryer sheet and a wet towel. Those little lint rollers also seem to do a fairly decent job. Hope this helps you out.

Patagonia- the perfect gift

great gift for my father in law - he loves this fleece.
