    Warm and Cozy!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I recently purchased this fleece for my mom, and she loves it! She said it is a little warmer than she expected, so she suggests wearing a thin, moisture wicking layer underneath if you plan on doing anything active in it. She loves the comfortable and relaxed fit!

    Keeps you warm and moving

This is a great pullover when you don't want to wear a jacket. I like that the sleeves can easily pull up to elbows. I've not been cold wearing this in 29 degree weather. Unfortunately doesn't have any side pockets, but I find that it helps because it doesn't interfere with your mid section when wearing a pack. It is bulky, and you'll look like you're smuggling a pillow underneath it. Speaking of its bulk, this is a b**** to pack down in your pack. I don't recommend this, but have I done it on 2 backpacking trips? Absolutely. And it will take up space. But it did redeem itself at night, because I'm a Texas girl and anything under 65 degrees is cold to me. I seriously loved parading around camp in this because I was warm and it's loose enough flay your arms around everywhere and not get tight.

I'm about 150 ish lbs and got a small and this was still big on me, however my upper region is smaller than my lower region

    Fleece at its Finest

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

I resisted buying this for a long time because of the price, but I finally caved and now that I have I can't say enough good things about this fleece. Which is why it has such a high rating, cause everyone feels the same way! It is SO comfy and toasty. I love that it runs big because I feel like most clothing items these days run small, especially for women. This is a garment with COMFORT as its first priority, and it is made for REAL PEOPLE! I really want another one now and that is BAD because they are quite pricey.
The only downside (if you could call it that) is that it's pretty bulky and definitely not as packable as my other fleeces, but WHO CARES??? I would probably bring it along anyways because the warmth is amazing. Almost eliminates the need for a huge puffy. And I guess the pocket could be a little bigger.
The color is vibrant and fun and the wash doesn't do a thing to it. The first time I wore it, it shed some fuzzy fleece bits but no more after the first wash, and it didn't affect its plushness at all. And another great thing about it is that if you get it wet (even like soaking wet), you can literally just squeeze all the water out and it's practically dry! Best fleece I've ever had. Way to go, Patagonia... I salute you.

    A classic

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS

If someone could name something bad about a Synchilla, I don't think I'd want to hear it. This fleece is cozy, soft, and durable, and such a classic. I wear mine constantly in the fall and winter, and am always trying to resist adding the latest colors to my collection. As everyone else has said, size down if you want a slimmer fit, but expect a bit of a boxy, baggy cut. It makes it so much cozier anyway, especially when layered over leggings.

    Comfy and warm

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    • Size Bought: XS

I purchased an XS because this runs a bit big. The S would have worked but the XS has that baggy but not in a bad way look on me. It fits comfortably everywhere on me (I'm about 34/26/35 for reference). It's just a normal fleece pullover, so it's not necessarily wind proof. I love the fit and coziness of it. I'm already planning on getting more of it and the re-tool snap one as well. OBSESSED!

    Love my first Patagonia!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS

I bought the feather dance/Brown bear print. I am 5'4", 105 lbs, small/thin build, and ordered the XS. It fit perfectly, with room to add a tee or long sleeve underneath it. This pullover is not meant to be fitted and is loose enough to feel cozy. The elastic at the wrists and waist are a good design to keep the wind out and the design from being too boxy. The fleece is thick and seems to be good quality. The shoulders fit well in this size too. I like how the collar stands up. I plan on wearing this pullover during the Illinois autumn season...the colors are perfect for fall! Backcountry always has the best deals on name brands and I could not pass this up! UPS had excellent shipping time too! I look forward to buying more Patagonia in the future!

    Comfy, cozy, warm

I absolutely love my new fleece. Had to get two. I can say they will be my go to layers for outings in the cold. I have to say the shape is very flattering for me in my process of losing the baby weight. I'm going down in size and every time I do that it seems the overflow gets more noticeable. ;) This lovely and functional fleece hides all that beautifully. I was a little disappointed in how small the front pocket is, I was hoping for larger, but I do love how the flap is taylored to keep things from falling out.

Classic fleece, great for all occasions

I accidentally forgot to read note about sizing and had to return the medium for a small because I was swimming in it. Once I got the smaller size, I absolutely loved it. The purple color is fun and vibrant, the vintage appeal of this Patagonia piece is great, not to mention how cozy it is. Brought this on a backpacking trip recently despite the impracticality and loved having the warm layer, wore it every chance I got.

Nostalgic in 2016 and works well??

This is a winner I gifted this to my wife for mothers day. She enjoys it and really likes the color way. The fit works great. She is 5'2" and the medium works great with a layer or two underneath, it does run a little loose. The only thing I noticed is there is no front pocket pouch which doesn't bother her much but thinks it would be a good idea. Paired with ( Patagonia Torrentshell Colorblock Jacket) on a recent trip to England and it worked great, shell kept the synchilla protected and the synchilla kept her warm. Once again another win for Patagonia.

        Snuggly!!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this fleece. The pattern (wild desert red) is amazing it is loud, obnoxious, and awesome. I wear this everyday. It is the best fleece to throw on after a long day at work. The fleece is designed to have a "baggy" fit which it does, but I don't find it overwhelmingly baggy. For reference I typically wear a S in Patagonia, 5'2" 120.

        Snuggly!!

        Fave fleece

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: Runs large
        • Size Bought: Medium

I purchased these pullovers for my high school & college age daughters. Loved it so much , got one for myself! Cozy, durable. We range in size from 5'9-6'1 tall and 135-160lbs ~mediums fit well for all 5 of us. Highly recommended!

        Is three of them enough?

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: Runs large
        • Size Bought: XL

Yes, I have three of these and would have more, if I needed more. It is soft, washes wonderfully and really is made for the tall gal. Great long sleeves, wide through shoulders, total comfort....and WARM. I'm 5'9" tall, 155 lbs, broad shoulders and long arms.....so when I find something that fits, I hog it up. Quality-wise, one cannot go wrong. Runs maybe just a tad large, but allow for laundering, which always changes fit.

        I love it!

        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Medium

I ordered a medium, and I'm 5'4" with an average build and it fits very well. The sleeves are a little long but the body of the pull over fits so nicely. I love how it keeps me warm, and isn't too bulky so that I can layer it under a heavier jacket.

I need to buy another one!!

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Extra Large

This is soooooo amazing! When I was looking at this item, trying to see if anyone had ordered and XL and I couldn't really find anyone that did and I was very worried about the fit. I just went for it and I am so glad that I did! It fits amazing and the grey with the purple is so cute! Also it was 30% of which is also great! I just got it today and I am already in love with it! Thinking about it? Just go for it! It's amazing and totally worth it!!

        I loved this fleece

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: Runs large
        • Size Bought: XS

I loved this fleece from Patagonia. I was very warm and cozy and the fleece, and it layers really well. It does shed a bit at first too.

However, Patagonia does not make small enough sizes for adults! Even an XS is HUGE on me. I had to send the women's XS size back only to reorder a girls L.

If your not on the bigger and taller spectrum of sizing, this will be way too big on you if your under 5'3" or even 5'4" and looking for an XS.

        Want warmth? You got it.

I got this as a gift for a friend and she fell in love with this Synchilla. It's incredibly warm and the regular fit gives it a loose & comfy feeling. The colors truly standout, making it a fun piece to have in your closet!

I am 5'4" and weigh 145lbs. I hear this runs large but I am also rather large chested. Should I order a medium or a large?

I am 5'6 and weigh 160 lbs. I have a very long torso and I want this to fit loose and comfortable. Would you recommend a medium or large?

I am 5'3, around 125 lbs and usually wear a size small in all of my clothes/jackets. I definitely want a comfortable, over sized fit, would a medium be too over sized though?

If I wear a size large in North Face would I also take a size large in Patagonia?

          Best Answer

          Hey Ashley,

Looks like Patagonia measurements for a size Large are:

          Chest 38.5 - 40in, Waist 30.5 - 32in, Hip 41 - 42.5in

And North Face measurements for Large are:

          Chest 39-40in, Waist 32-33in, Hip 40-43in

Subtle differences there, but I think the Patagonia size Large will work for you!
