Classic fleece, great for all occasions

I accidentally forgot to read note about sizing and had to return the medium for a small because I was swimming in it. Once I got the smaller size, I absolutely loved it. The purple color is fun and vibrant, the vintage appeal of this Patagonia piece is great, not to mention how cozy it is. Brought this on a backpacking trip recently despite the impracticality and loved having the warm layer, wore it every chance I got.

Nostalgic in 2016 and works well??

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This is a winner I gifted this to my wife for mothers day. She enjoys it and really likes the color way. The fit works great. She is 5'2" and the medium works great with a layer or two underneath, it does run a little loose. The only thing I noticed is there is no front pocket pouch which doesn't bother her much but thinks it would be a good idea. Paired with ( Patagonia Torrentshell Colorblock Jacket) on a recent trip to England and it worked great, shell kept the synchilla protected and the synchilla kept her warm. Once again another win for Patagonia.

      snuggly

I love this fleece mostly the pattern (wild desert red). Tried an XS and a S. The fleece is designed to have a "baggy" fit. I noticed though the S is the same size as an old synchilla fleece I got from the thrift store that's a M (vanity sizing???). Any ways the XS is less sloppy in the midriff but a bit too snug on the shoulders to be active. The S fits great on the shoulders but the midriff area is baggy! I went with the S for a relaxed fit that I can move around in.

I purchased these pullovers for my high school & college age daughters. Loved it so much , got one for myself! Cozy, durable. We range in size from 5'9-6'1 tall and 135-160lbs ~mediums fit well for all 5 of us. Highly recommended!

      Is three of them enough?

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

      • Size Bought: XL

Yes, I have three of these and would have more, if I needed more. It is soft, washes wonderfully and really is made for the tall gal. Great long sleeves, wide through shoulders, total comfort....and WARM. I'm 5'9" tall, 155 lbs, broad shoulders and long arms.....so when I find something that fits, I hog it up. Quality-wise, one cannot go wrong. Runs maybe just a tad large, but allow for laundering, which always changes fit.

      I love it!

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

I ordered a medium, and I'm 5'4" with an average build and it fits very well. The sleeves are a little long but the body of the pull over fits so nicely. I love how it keeps me warm, and isn't too bulky so that I can layer it under a heavier jacket.

I need to buy another one!!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is soooooo amazing! When I was looking at this item, trying to see if anyone had ordered and XL and I couldn't really find anyone that did and I was very worried about the fit. I just went for it and I am so glad that I did! It fits amazing and the grey with the purple is so cute! Also it was 30% of which is also great! I just got it today and I am already in love with it! Thinking about it? Just go for it! It's amazing and totally worth it!!

      I loved this fleece

I loved this fleece from Patagonia. I was very warm and cozy and the fleece, and it layers really well. It does shed a bit at first too.

However, Patagonia does not make small enough sizes for adults! Even an XS is HUGE on me. I had to send the women's XS size back only to reorder a girls L.

If your not on the bigger and taller spectrum of sizing, this will be way too big on you if your under 5'3" or even 5'4" and looking for an XS.

      Want warmth? You got it.

I got this as a gift for a friend and she fell in love with this Synchilla. It's incredibly warm and the regular fit gives it a loose & comfy feeling. The colors truly standout, making it a fun piece to have in your closet!

        Perfect Gift!

I got this jacket for my girl. She can't say enough good things about it. She wears it every day. It keeps her warm and cozy around the house and around the campfire. Great classic look as well!

Last night synchilla saved my life!

Well, it wasn't quite last night but rather last September during a camping trip to Grant Teton National Park.
I have initially bought this product due to its retro feel, to replace an old thick fleece that served me well. I loved the feel of the fabric (dense fleece that is still soft) and the fit (L) but I was almost ready to return it thinking that I am not going to wear it a lot as it looked too warm for the Pacific NW are where I live. I even had the return label ready...but decided on a whim to pack it for our road trip to Wyoming. It was just the beginning of September when we had freezing temperature overnight for the first 2-3 nights, following a thunder storm on the first day there. I used the synchilla almost every day, from walking around camp to the morning hikes and even to wrap my feet inside the sleeping bag during one of the colder nights (I don't like sleeping with thick socks)....and now I wear it all the time. I like that is it a loose fit without being too bulky and the dense material is made of is great...the fact that is quite resistant to stains or odours is an added bonus. The only thing that is not so good for is wet weather, unless you can fit it under a shell...but not a big deal for me as I have other layers for that kind of weather.
I got the nickel/yellow color from last year's batch...and love it.

There is a reason that everyone has and loves a Synchilla fleece. The fleece is light-weight and breathable, but is still durable and will hold up well for a long period of time. The colors and prints are awesome and the snap collar looks great on everyone. Since the cut on this fleece is not tapered for women it can seem a little boxy and big, however I have found that it fits pretty true to size. If you want a more flattering fit you can size down, and still have room for light layering underneath. This fleece is a closet staple of mine and I wear it all the time!

        • Size Bought: Large

I was hesitant because of the price but honestly this is probably one of the best purchases I've made in awhile. It's comparable to the northface pull over fleece when it comes to warmth. I really love that it's light weight, comfortable and form fitting. I did find that these run small, so for someone who typically wears a size small, I'd order the large so you can put stuff under it. I rock the print fleece, and another one of my favorite features is the button up collar, makes it perfect for different occasions!!!

I could live in the Synchilla

If it was socially acceptable I would never take off this sweater. It's damn comfortable and the fleece is oh so soft. Yes I'm a guy, and I bought the women's version. I'm about 5'7, 130lbs and the women's medium is perfect. The Synchilla style is to fit loose and large, though the slightly smaller women's version is still better for me. The bagginess of the men's is just way too loose fitting. That being said, for women reading this, you still want to size down a full size at the least. It will shrink a bit as well.

I am 5'4" and weigh 145lbs. I hear this runs large but I am also rather large chested. Should I order a medium or a large?

I am 5'6 and weigh 160 lbs. I have a very long torso and I want this to fit loose and comfortable. Would you recommend a medium or large?

I am 5'3, around 125 lbs and usually wear a size small in all of my clothes/jackets. I definitely want a comfortable, over sized fit, would a medium be too over sized though?

If I wear a size large in North Face would I also take a size large in Patagonia?

        Best Answer

        Hey Ashley,

Looks like Patagonia measurements for a size Large are:

        Chest 38.5 - 40in, Waist 30.5 - 32in, Hip 41 - 42.5in

And North Face measurements for Large are:

        Chest 39-40in, Waist 32-33in, Hip 40-43in

Subtle differences there, but I think the Patagonia size Large will work for you!
