Good fit, nice heavyweight fleece. No frills. Got this in XS for my 5 year old son and it's his favorite hat. Will go in the hat bin this spring and get lots of wear from his two younger sisters over the next few years.

adorable on my 8.5 yr old. he had a huge head and the largest size fits well...good under a hood too

I think for the Kids Synchilla Alpine Hat you might try an XXL to cover the massive curls. (The XXL translates to a head circumference of 56-58 cm) Head size is tough to guess, but I think that should give you a fairly snug fit.

My son, now 2 1/2, outgrew a Synchilla hat that he'd worn for the past year and I was thrilled to find this "big kid" style. I got him one blue and one green- the green is much more vivid than color appears online. These hats keep him warm when it's wet, they breathe when it gets warm and he doesn't want to take it off, they wash up great and keep their shape and color no matter what. In our house it has to measure up to "active wear" that will withstand all we can dish out and these hats pass the test.
