Description

The best fish are in the backcountry.

Oftentimes, accessing the best fishing requires you to venture off the beaten path, which is why Patagonia designed the versatile Sweet Pack Vest. The pack allows you to comfortably carry a days worth of fishing gear and is hydration compatible for convenient thirst quenching. When you finally arrive at that rarely fished stream, you can sport the mesh vest on its own or wear it with the pack.

  • Pack's burly ballistics nylon with DWR finish boosts wet weather protection
  • Vest's polyester mesh breathes for warm-weather comfort
  • Vest can be worn alone, or you can detach the back of the vest from the front and attach the front of the vest to the pack's shoulder straps
  • Pack provides 1434 cubic inches or storage space
  • Water-resistant zippers keep gear dry when you're in the river
  • Multiple Hypalon attachment points on the pack and shoulder straps provide additional storage options
  • Interior hydration sleeve allows for convenient thirst quenching (reservoir not included)
  • Dual side expandable pockets hold water bottles
  • Interior organization pockets are ideal for extra spools, fly boxes, and tippet
  • Vertical pockets on vest keep gear organized and easily accessible

Does this have a place to hold a rod tube or two? I can't tell from the photos.

Matt,
The pack vest could definitely carry a rod tube, looks like there are a couple options. Quick and easy would be in the water bottle pocket secured with one strap, or the straps on the bottom depending on how long of a tube, or there are options for adding your own straps...

Patagonia has made a few versions of this pack over the years. It was recently discontinued for a few seasons and now it is back and better than ever. The backpack portion is wear you will see most of the changes. The back become a little more feature oriented, while adding a bit of weight. The vest portion stays pretty true to Patagonia's former vests found on the pack vest. Good for any angler. This pack/vest combo will do it all.
