- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I got this hat for my dad for Kite Surfing (he is pretty much bald haha) but this worked great for him. Being out on the water in full sun and getting reflection off of the water is not safe, but this hat was perfect for him. full coverage for his head, face, and neck but also the chin strap helps keep it on in case he does a face plant. Overall he is super satisfied!
Good Sun protection
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Quality construction and material dries fast. Being bald means extra protection is mandatory. The hat provides good protection and wears well on the water. It was used primary for body surfing / body boarding. The straps tuck away nicely when not necessary and a sinch around the brim tightens when you just want to go out and jump waves ... etc. The strap held well when buckled for riding and ducking under waves. The fact that I still have it in my possession speaks to it's effectiveness.
used it every day for seven days in a row while windsurfing in Greece.
fits well, dries fast, material and design are perfect .
are chin straps removable? if not, any pocket on the hat to tuck in not to show?
The straps are not removable, and they do not have a pocket where they can be tucked into. However they can be tucked away inside the hat if desired to be worn without them.
