    Great all-around summer shorts

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

I bought these shorts for a deep-sea fishing trip—I was tired of stiff board shorts but wanted something that would still dry fairly quickly. These were great! The waistband was perfect for me (I've read some negative reviews) and I really liked the looser fit of the leg area. Great for trail running, kayaking, sailing—whatever summer throws at you.

    Can't wait to try

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small

The wife purchased these, this is her take:
Just received these shorts in the mail and am excited to try them out. I have other Patagonia shorts that have become some of my faves, so I'm excited to add another pair to the rotation. The fit is a little more snug in the small, but I have found in the past that if I upgrade to a medium, they're too baggy. Materials are thin and lightweight so I'm hopeful they'll be perfect for summer!

    Expect better from Patagonia

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium

I received these in the mail today, tried them on immediately and was so disappointed! The fit is poor. The seam under the waistband were the liner is sewn in is way too tight with no stretch. This made the shorts pull weird and bunch up. The waistband fit. The leg openings fit. I ordered my normal medium which I wear in my Patagonia barely baggies, Nike, Adidas, Champion, everything. I am more impressed with my $20 running shorts from Target. I'm usually a big fan of Patagonia's quality and am willing to spend the money, but these shorts are a disappointment for sure. The lining material is rough and itchy. The interior key pocket has no top flap to keep your stuff from bouncing out while you work out. Returning, so sad.

    Meh

I didn't love these shorts with how much everyone's raving about them. I waned to use them for running long distances and I found that the underlining was really tight and knew it would chafe instantly. A larger size may have helped but other than the underlining it fit good and felt like a bigger size wouldn't have fixed the problem.

      Love these shorts

      • Fit: True to size

When I first saw them I was skeptical, they looked too thin but after trying them on they were perfect and you dont have to wear panties with the built in liner. Good job patagonia A+

      Great material, and very comfy!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small

Already I can tell that these shorts are going to be super comfy for summer activities, i.e. kayaking, hiking, sailing, motor boating. They feel completely different than the water/running shorts I've had before and the inner lining is super soft and not constricting like most shorts of this type. I am super pumped to get them going, I feel like they will be my number ones this summer!

      Great for climbing too

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small

I've worn these several times climbing and so far these are the only shorts I've owned where the built-in underwear stays put. No need to wear underwear under these. I've lifted in these as well and they're pretty good except on squats (then I get a wedgie). The drawstring works well at keeping them in place and the length is perfect, although be aware there are two small slits along the side seams. Overall, super comfy, flattering, and breathable. I love them so much I bought 3 pairs. :)

I'm 5'5" and 128 lbs, with narrow hips and muscular legs/rear. The small fits perfectly.

      Good Standard Workout Shorts

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: Medium

Very comfy! I like the thicker band at the top. Don't be misled - the side seam does not go up all the way - only what you can see in the picture! (I was a little worried when I ordered.)

Based on the reviews, I decided to order a medium - at 5'5' / 135lbs, I'm usually between a small and a medium for these things. I'm pretty happy with the medium.

      My favorite workout shorts

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: small

I have never had more perfect shorts. I bought them for a five month trip across the US and they havent let me down so far. I'm 5'9" , 130lbs, and have narrow hips so the small was just right. I also love the length, just short enough to not be restricting but long enough to wear about and still feel comfortable. I've worn them as casual wear and on backpacking trips and they work great for both. Highly recommended.

      Super comf!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

      • Size Bought: Medium

These are awesome all around shorts for hiking, running, you name it! The material is breathable and they're extremely comfortable.

I was afraid they might be too short, but the length is perfect- not too long, not too short. The band across the top is not stretchy, instead these shorts rely on the drawstring to stay up.

The sizing is a bit odd on these, with smaller hips and the majority of my weight in my legs/booty, the medium is a little looser around the hips than I prefer but fits great around the legs. If sizing to a small, likely the hips would fit better but the legs would be a little tight.

Overall, these shorts are pretty great and look nice.

      Yes!

These shorts are great all-around - they fit well, they're lightweight, and comfortable. I've worn them several times on trail runs and I couldn't be happier.

      Lightweight nothings! Perfect for runs

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XS

Was expecting it to be of thick material and pleasantly surprised at how lightweight it is! Feels like nothing when running and super comfy.

THE best shorts to run in. period.

      Best shorts ever!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

These shorts are great in so many ways. 1) Perfect length: not too short (no booty show), not too long. 2) The material allows for a great range of movement, breathes well, and dries quickly. 3) Versatility! I wear these shorts on long runs, hiking trails, and on bike rides around town(not long distance rides as I wear a chamois). I recently wore these shorts multiple days in a row on a road trip from San Luis Obispo, CA to Joshua Tree National Park, then to Zion National Park, then to Bryce National Park, then to Arches National Park, and finally to Boulder, CO. We hiked in every location and these shorts never got stinky. Hands down, my favorite shorts.

      Best shorts ever!

      The perfect pair of shorts....

These have been my absolute favorite running shorts for over a year now, but they really are perfect for so many other things. They roll up super tiny to stash in your pack and take on all your journeys, and they dry super quick if you find yourself in the middle of an impromptu swim session.

      The perfect pair of shorts....

super cute but might not last long!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

i love these shorts, they are super cute and comfortable and great for running. the only thing is the seams along the thighs are beginning to rip, where the mesh panels are. i've worn these shorts about 10 times since i bought them and both sides are tearing already, so i'm afraid to stretch in them!
