Patagonia made the Women's Strappy Vitaliti Dress with a combination of organic cotton and recycled polyester to create a soft wrinkle-resistant casual dress ideal for traveling. Its built-in shelf bra adds support while you hike around a new foreign town or chase down your plane. The Patagonia Strappy Vitaliti Dress fits just below the knees, so it works just as well for more dressy occasions as it does for casual nights.
Bottom Line: Travel comfortably and save the environment at the same time with the Patagonia Strappy Vitaliti Dress.
This dress is fab. I wear it all the time in summer and can't wait to use it on a trip I'm taking in a few days. Great for work and going out, day festivals, you name it. Got a size small and it hits pretty much right a the bottom of the knee, and the chest sizing is spot on as well. I am 5'6" and around 120 lbs. If they had a small in the red right now I would order it today *hint hint* :)
This dress is comfy, cute and very versatile. I grocery shop, go to the park with my kids, do errands by bike and foot, and go to church in this dress. It can be dressed up or down depending on jewelry and footwear choice. My only negative is the built-in bra. After nursing two kids by "girls" aren't very "perky" anymore and the built-in bra does me no favors, just gives me a uni-boob look. I wear a bra underneath to "perk" things up a bit and it is fine. I would definitely recommend this dress though -- it is a perfect summer staple and will be great in fall with a cardigan.
What is the actual length of the dress (in inches)? I know it says hits below the knees but at different heights for different bodies that might not be true for everyone. thanks

90 degrees, humid. This usually spells disaster for your work outfit. I hate arriving wrinkly and damp. Luckily, I have this dress which in black is a pretty classic a-line dress with a nice shape and the fabric doesn't succumb to the weather and become unwearable before you've checked your e-mail. It also packs well and is great for travel. Note on Sizing: the description says it falls below the knee, I am 5'7" and for me it hits right above the knee (perhaps because I wear a small and small sizes are usually shorter?)
I bought this dress to wear for a trip to Southeast Asia (Hot and Very Humid). I absolutely love the fit! It hugs, not binds, on top and flares out to an a-line at just the right spot (about upper hip). Although women with larger chest circumference may need to size up, the cut is so flexible I believe you can easily do this without sacrificing the style. I have yet to test it in the humidity, but I have a feeling it'll do just fine as the fabric feels like it's breathable and cool. Definitely would recommend it and can't wait to use it!
This dress is overly modest and cuts way into the armpits. I'm pretty small (5'2 and 110lbs) and I got an extra small...partly b/c that was the only size available in black and because I ordered the Patagonia Bandha Dress in a small and it was huge on me. Again, this didn't fit well at all thru the arms and the neck line is really high for a tank dress. but I like the fabric and the length was good. Sadly disappointed.
I have a Vitaliti dress in aqua from last year. Fits great, and I wear it all the time. I bought another in black this year. It doesn't fit ... way too tight in the hips. SO, Patagonia either changed their fit model or they aren't compensating for different fabric dyes (black dyes tend to shrink fabric at a higher rate than other dyes). So back it goes, and I'm bereft of a black tank dress for the summer. Harumph.
Love this dress, it is easy to wear, looks great and is super comfy. I have the vitaliti tank from last year and I love the fit on my broad shoulders, I'm built like a swimmer. The dress fits the same way, nicely fitted in the bodice and slender in the torso to flattering knee length finish. I bought a medium because the arm holes of the small were a little tight for me.
What an awesome dress! Comfortable, cool, wears like iron. I only wish that it came in a shorter length, since I'm 5'4 and it comes below my knees. That would make it perfect. For the record, I weigh 105 and the XS fits great, maybe a bit loose in the chest area. The neckline's great - not too frumpy, not too low, and the armholes that people complain about fit my small shoulders beautifully.
Cranberry color was great. I love the vitaliti fabric, but the dress is small on top (and does give the uniboob look) and large everywhere else. Not sure what kind of fit model they used... but it was not for me. I am a 36 A and a size 6 pant, but the dress was all wrong! Better luck next time.
This is a terrific dress! As a frequent traveler, I am always on the lookout for 'the perfect' whatever, based on how it packs and wears. This is the perfect travel dress. The L fits just right ( I am 5' 8 1/2" with a somewhat hippier figure than I care for!) and the length is modest enough to look ok for sight seeing in most venues. May even order a second one!
I have this dress in black and I'm about to order another. It is my favorite dress! It has a bulit in bra, is modest, but very flatering and can be dressed up or down. It is like wearing a night gown in comfort. I ordered a Medium and was glad since it it very fitted and though I am petite 5'3 and 130lbs, I have a botty, so this feels not to tight.
I am an artist and travel to art shows-outdoors. I was looking for a comfortable cotton dress that looked great. Found it! I'm 5'7 and 122 lbs. If you are thicker in the shoulders this would not be the dress for you. it runs small around the shoulder/armpits. It's on the edge for me. Over all i really like it alot and the cut is flattering!
I got a S (I am 5'5 and 125lbs.) and it fits perfectly. The built-in shelf bra works great. The material feels soft, is durable, and I can dress up or go casual depending on the shoes and jewelry. I highly recommend this dress!
