Big/baggy and comfy

Agree with others, this runs big/baggy - I am 6'2" 155 pounds and normally wear a L in Patagonia outerwear, but a M in the Slopestyle fits well, though baggy, with nice long arms. Really like the zippered pockets, gives you two pockets in one.

5'8" 150 lbs, which size should I get? Are they still fairly box cut?

Purchased both the S & M. Kept the small as the medium was too boxy and big. Seems to be a slightly different fit than the Slopestyle 2.0 hoody I have from a few seasons back though.
Might not be the clothing so much as it might be me. I think I have shrunk in the wash!

- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I picked up the orange jacket for looks. I always loved it's look, but I didn't think it was worth the money just for looks. Boy was I wrong. It's actually a very nice jacket and it has a lot more going for itself on top of looks.
It has surprisingly good water repellency. It's silky texture repels water without DWR. With a DWR coat it should be even better. I was in pouring rain for 20 minutes and I only got slightly moist on my shoulders. Could have been because of my backpack.
It is reasonably warm and and keeps the wind out.
great hoodie, big fit

This hoodie looks great in Watercress, sheds light moisture, has a pretty tight weave to keep mild winds at bay, and is manufactured with precision. It has a very well thought out design that I fell in love with. You will not regret picking this bad boy up. I have the large and I am 6'1" and 195 and it fits a little bit more athletically than I would have thought from a snow boarding jacket. But I am glad, I ski in it and love wearing it at the bar after a day on the slopes. My firends never have trouble picking me out of a line up.

Love the hoodie but ordered online and the L was more like a XXL. I'm 6'4" 200lbs and it hung down to my knees and was very boxy. Very unexpected sizing.

This is my second Patagonia product and I must say that they haven't let me down. The build quality of this hoodie is very solid and the Watercress color is fantastic! I haven't fully tested the DWR coating but it does seem to shed water well thus far. It's relatively warm and the fleece lining is soft and comfy. The side cinches are a must to keep the wind out and can be adjusted on the fly. The pockets are really deep and actually sport a hidden zippered pocket within them. It is a loose fit but I guess that's what you get with a snowboard jacket/hoodie. I sure wouldn't use this as a stand alone "Jacket" but it works nice as a sweatshirt/hoodie.
Sweatshirt more than jacket

This is more like a technical sweatshirt rather than a jacket. Still a great piece of clothing that blocks light wind and light rain (washing it in tech wash made it more possible to shed rain). Replaces an EMS technical sweatshirt I had for years. Great sweatshirt for many different adventures.
Great for casual use too

This is my second one since I lost my first on a trip. I've mainly used this only for around town and snowshoeing.
I have yet to use it for boarding but I'm sure it will hold up on a warmer day on the mountain.
It's got good wind protection and kept me warm on windy days trotting around on my scooter. I like the fact that the zipper comes up much higher than most hooded sweatshirts, making for a better fit for me.
The texture has a good feel and better styling that than your typical cotton hoodie. For obvious reasons, it stays drier in milder inclement weather than cotton.
A sweet hoody

I got this to be used for spring skiing. Like said there is no DWR to the fabric. I did a wash in soft shell waterproof, and also sprayed it down with soft shell waterproof on the outside too. It works well enough unless you are eating it a lot. I would say I am 80% satisfied with it as a soft shell type deal, but 100% satisfied if we are looking at it as the hooded non-cotton sweatshirt that it is.
The zippers in the hand-warmer pockets are awesome.
Great for wearing to the hill, but on the hill?

I was a little disappointed in this fleece jacket. I was looking for something to wear over a t-shirt on warm spring days, when the slopes are soft and slushy and it is too warm for a full-on shell and layers. Patagonia talks about this as a "softshell jacket," which is completely misleading in my opinion. While the jacket has a nylon outer face, which does an admirable job of blocking light winds, the face material is not DWR coated and does a very good job of soaking up water that comes in contact with it. It isn't a deal breaker, but it isn't the behavior of a soft-shell jacket either. On spring days last year, the Slopestyle was soaked through anywhere where it came in contact with the snow. It is pretty boxy and loosely cut, so while it looks proportional while you're wearing ski or snowboard boots and pants, it is a little big for me to be wearing casually unless I'm at the crags. The upside is that there is room for layers underneath and I wear it primarily as an early morning, long-drive-to-the-hill car jacket, something comfy to swap for my shell when I get to the hill. The thumbholes are too small to actually accomodate my thumbs without cutting off circulation and stressing the bartacks at the thumb openings, to the point where I am afraid of tearing the cuffholes open. So, a lot of weird things at work here. I think if you call it what it is, a nylon-face fleece hoody for the day-to-day of Fall, Winter and Spring, it is pretty good at that. Post-surf, post-ski, skatepark, tuning garage or fetching the paper and kicking it at the coffee shop, maybe. But a technical, slushy-park-and-mountain softshell hoody with slope style? Not quite.
