Unanswered Question

I'm looking to buy some waders but have a few concerns. I'm 6'4, 165 lbs, and wear a size 13 shoe, 32" waist, 34" inseam, and 38" chest. I've worn waders in the past and in order to get the sock to fit I had to go to an XXL (I could have fit 2 of me in there.) I'm wondering if there are any out there that are slim enough, long enough, and will feet my big feet. also I'm in Skagway AK so there is nowhere near by where I can try any on unfortunately.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Aside from Patagonia's legendary return policy (if they rip send them back) these are fantastic. Lightweight, great fit and the two tone color combo looks great. The hand warmers in the front come in handy on those bitter December Steelheading adventures. The best part about these waders is that they are truly all year waders, the convertible top allows you to drop it low when things heat up. You can't go wrong here.

First impressions - super cool. I bought the Rio Gallegos waders in a size small and they were huge so I went to an XS short in these... maybe I went a little over board, so I think The XS would have fit perfect. I'm 5'8 and 150 lbs and I don't like really baggy stuff. So if you're like me (short and slim) you'll probably do good in an extra small..

I love the ability to pull my waders down with out taking them off. Genius idea. So the material is very solid. You don't get the merino wool booties in these, which makes them better for fishing in all weather. The Rio Gallegos are made for the winter steelheader, so you can save $100 and go with these equally solid waders.
I have a few things I don't like though, so maybe take these with a grain of salt...

The front hand warmer pocket is not zippered on the sides. I really, really wish it was. the front zipper you see in the picture is nice, but it's just mesh between the items in there and the outside world. The gear keeper on that front pocket is soooo useful. I just put my zingers for forceps and nipps on there and it works out nicely.

My only other complaint is that the gravel guards are weak. They're just a laminated piece of fabric onto the side of the shell. My first day wearing them that material started delaminating. Who knows how they will keep holding up but I was a little disappointed. I'm super rough on all my outdoor gear so that could be just me and not happen to anyone else. Overall, I'm stoked about the waders. They look good and are a comfortable fabric that isn't as loud as some others out there. Solid waders.

Very durable, long lasting waders with tons of features. The ability to drop down to waist-height is clutch, and I use it far more often than I thought I would. Also surprised at how breathable the fabric is. Overall very comfortable, especially the booties. Never had an issue with tears or holes, even with some sketchy approaches. Bottom line is these waders improved the fly-fishing experience for me.

Solid wader

These are by far the best fitting/ most comfortable waders I have ever had. They seem pretty sturdy as well. Have only wore them a handful of times, but am impressed so far!
