Patagonia Simple Guide Softshell Jacket - Men's - 2010 BCS

I liked it so much in black that I bought a green one also. It's very comfortable and just the right amount of stretch. Great for cycling.

I was very suprised at how light this jacket is. Feels as light as an old nylon wind breaker, but much better. I love the breathablity. I also have a Columbia softshell, but it makes me sweat just wearing it. The Simple Guide Softshell is as good as advertized, can't wait to use it on Mt. San Gorgonio later this month.

This jacket surpassed my expectations, but lacked not having a hood. Has a nice feel to it, not to big or to small.

Found this on sale and it quickly became my most-used piece of outerwear. I use this alone for backcountry skiing, as a layer for riding lifts, and it's light and breathable enough to work for really cold trail runs and bike commuting duty as well. I sprayed mine with some extra nikwax waterproofing and it does fine in the rain for shorter periods of time. I couldn't be happier with this shell - I'd expect it to be worn out after being used hard every day this winter but it is looking like I will get 3-4 seasons out of the thing.
