Well made but not warm

These are well-made mitten-gloves, but I am not sure why they include the term "insulator" in the name since there is no insulation and they are not warm in temps below 30F. I had hoped to use them for winter birding and photography but sent them back when it was clear they would not add any warmth (good protection from the wind and no doubt water resistant). The glove fingers are very long - only the very tips of my fingers poked out. I got a pair of Swany Arctic Toaster Mitts that seem like they will be better for what I need.
