Sweet jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

This is a wonderful jacket -- it's lightweight and has sturdy zippers. I have yet to test it in a real downpour, but I have used it around campus a bunch. It's light enough to wear in warm rains and spacious enough to fit a whole bunch of layers underneath. And the hood is great -- lots of coverage!

Not Rainproof

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This jacket looks great, but will not keep you dry in any serious weather. After only a few hours of light rain, the jacket soaked thru on the back of the neck, allowing water to run down my back.

Backcountry gave me a refund with no hassle. THANK YOU!

Lightweight and effective

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this jacket. The fit is nice and roomy without looking baggy. It is extremely lightweight and can be stowed away in a purse/small backpack without taking up much room. It is very high quality.

WAY too big

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

While the quality of the jacket is great, it doesn't fit at all. I am 5'3" and 150lbs. I normally a women's large, sometimes a medium. I ordered the large and it was so big, I had to double-check to be sure I wasn't sent a men's large jacket by accident. I know there's supposed to be room for layers underneath, but I was swimming in this thing! I will be exchanging for a small.

How is it for canoe trips, white water...

How is it for canoe trips, white water rafting and spring snowboarding?

Best Answer

Its great for spring snowboarding I use something similar a little heavier as my everyday winter jacket. For canoeing and or white water rafting it will shield the water but in no way keep you completely dry as water will come in through the cuffs, hem, and neck. It would be very effective in the canoe as you probably dont have rapids overtaking the vessel but if they were your going to get wet. If your looking to stay completely dry during these types of rafting trips they do make dry tops, something like this
