R3 Fleece Jacket - Men's

Far down the block, it appears that you left the wind-resistant Patagonia Men’s R3 Fleece Jacket hanging, forgotten and alone, over the bar stool. Oh dear … not good. Never leave this warm layering piece alone all by itself. It’s like stepping away from a super hot chick before you lock her down. As you run like the wind back to the bar, you remember how well it fits underneath your shell, how warm the R3 keeps you on long, lonely nights, and how comfy the R3’s breathable, moisture-wicking fleece feels on early morning skins up the mountain.

Bottom Line: You better cross your fingers.

Additionally, the R2 has more a slim or athletic cut to it whereas the R3 has more of a regular cut to it and tends to be more wind resistant than the R2, which is, for the most part, not wind resistant (maybe up to 10 or 15 mph, unless paired with a good shell). If you're looking for a layer, then I would suggest going for the R2, but if you're looking for a jacket, I'd suggest going for the R3.

Fleece weight. The R2 is lighter at 200 g/m², vs 300 g/m² for the R3- R3 is warmer.

i think it's true to size, because i have a r4 of size small and it's a little bit short for me and I got this r3 of size M and it fits perfect on me.
Besides, it's very warm. i think it's comparable to r4 in term of warmth in condition of no wind. And r3 also blocks descent amout of wind. And it breaths much much better than r4 when i am active while r4 usually makes me wet from inside.
