When a the biggest obstacle between you and a tantalizing frozen waterfall is a hatefully low thermometer reading, layer up with the Patagonia Women's R1 Hooded Fleece Pullover. Incredibly warm and flexible, this hooded layer helps you meet the demands of sub-zero climbs with sends and frosty laughs. Unlike your average baselayer, the R1 won't restrict your movement.
  • R1 Regulator grid fleece moves with the body and wicks moisture for optimal temperature management
  • Slim fit allows it to layer easily under a jacket
  • Highly compressible and light so as to keep your pack weight down
  • Made with E-fibers and Bluesign approved in keeping with Patagonia's ongoing commitment to sustainability

I purchased the RI Hoody for my girlfriend. She uses it as her base layer for ice climbing and ski touring. The front zip dumps heat while touring and zips up above the chin to keep out snow/wind when climbing. The layer is still long enough to be tucked into pants, but doesn't have the same length as the men's version.

Versatile, nice material, breathable,Patagonia always runs a touch small, the correct size for me and it's a perfect fit. Packing for a changing weather trip will be easier. This is a beautiful color. Soft fabric.

This is a great layer!!! I will agree with the above review that it is a very snug fit. I am 5?3? 125 lbs and the Medium is perfect. I recently went on a camping trip and brought this as my warmest layer. It rained the entire time but it kept me warm and I stayed dry with my rain jacket over it. I read other reviews on other websites and there were a few that said the hood was too tight around the neck. This is one of my favorite features. It has a snug fit and covers up to your nose. I am a ski patroller and this will be one of my favorite layers in the winter for skiing. It will keep the cold winter air and wind out of my ears. Other great features are the thumb holes and the length of the jacket is great. I love that it isn?t short and does not allow air to travel up the bottom. Very warm, very practical, multi-use layer. I bought 2 more!

I love Patagonia's R1 material. It's the perfect layer for the fall and spring and great for chilly mountain mornings. But, when they call this cut "slim fit," they really mean it. I usually wear a medium in Patagonia (including a "slim fit" softshell jacket that I adore) but there's no way my shoulders and lats (39 inches) were fitting into this medium. I tried a large on in a store and that was way too big, so I guess I'm out of luck. I have a more square-cut men's one already, which is why I can attest to the awesomeness of the fabric, but I wish I could get one fitted to me!
