Description

Foremost pants for the slopes.

The 3-layer Gore-Tex Patagonia Women's Primo Pant gives you excellent weather protection and breathable comfort so you can hike the ridge and ride through powder. Made from Patagonia's waterproof recycled polyester and lined with wicking taffeta, the Primo Pants prevent both snow and sweat from soaking your legs. Abrasion-resistant panels protect the seat, thighs, and lower legs from wear and tear, and scuff guards on the leg hems keep your boards from shredding your pants. Full side zips offer superior ventilation and allow you to get the pants on and off over boots. Gaiters stop the fluff from getting in your boots, and articulated knees let you move freely as you tele or alpine ski.

Bomb proof!!!

I love these pants! I'm 5'10", 145 lbs with a slim athletic build. As other reviewers have mentioned, these pants are cut on the slim side. I have athletic thighs but because of my height these pants still work for me. I love the side vents. They are perfectly placed and dump heat fast. These pants allow me to move fluidly down as well as up the mountain. The outer layer is super waterproof and durable in strong wind as well as flat out rain. I was looking for a pant with a longer inseam and while I wouldn't object to a couple more inches on these, with how strong the gaiters are they work just fine. The zippers are also super tough so I don't have to worry about a pocket accidentally opening. I feel like the medium fit me perfectly while giving me enough room to layer and still move while touring. The snaps tend to come undone from time to time so I would definitely recommend wearing a belt. If it weren't for the belt loops I would have sent these back. I know I've made a good turn when I dig into it and hear/feel my snaps pop. I talked to another friend who has the same pants and her snaps pop all the time too. So if yours pop, it might not be a sizing issue. All in all, for the conditions I ski and my build these pants are perfect.

Awesome Pants!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I am 5'10" and weigh 140 and got these pants in a size medium to get more length...the small would fit better; However, the length is perfect! I couldn't ask for a better pant! They sit more at the hip than at the waist and are adjustable for the perfect fit! The legs are roomy and great for any activity...skiing, skinnig or just goofing off in. I have a little junk in my trunk and a smaller waist with athletic legs but not over muscular so the fit is perfect. Normally I get men's pants for the length and was pretty excited to finally get a pair of women's pants! The waist snaps could be a bit snappier but all in all they are good!

Nice pant if you have stick legs!

I was impressed with these pants out of the box, sturdy material, seemless zippers, adequate cuffguard and nicely sized exterior vents. Unfortunately Patagonia continues to cut their pants for square shaped people with stick legs. I'm 5'5" and 125lbs and ordered a small, needless to say they were huge in the waist and tight in the thighs. They would be fine for walking around I guess, but I'm not sure how you would skin or boot pack comfortably since they are so tight in the thigh area. I can hardly lift my leg or squat down once I put underlayers on. And even with the adjustable waist tabs and a belt, they felt all bunched up and cumbersome. Also, the back still looked like a giant snow scoop! They did get the length right and fit over my boot nicely. However there are no external zippers at the cuff so if you buckle and unbuckle your boots at the beginning/end of a run its kind of a pain to get at them. The color is pretty sweet too. So if you are skinny with no hips, these pants are for you, if you are muscular in the leg or have a few curves I wouldn't recommend them. Tele girls stay away! Patagonia, I really like your clothing, but when are you going to switch to a more athletic womens cut??!!

I totally agree with you on the Patagonia sizing for women's pants. It's a good, fair review. You should send it to Patagonia, where they're more likely to see/respond.
