There's nothing like a good backcountry or resort powder-seeking adventure. Unless your pants turn into wet stiffies by the end of the day. Thanks to welded seams and a two-way stretch, waterproof breathable fabric, the Patagonia Men's Primo Flash Pants keep your legs dry and comfortable all day long. These lightweight ski shell pants' articulated knees give you the freedom of movement you need on uphill skins and drop-knee descents. The Patagonia Primo Flash Pants' nylon reinforcements run from the knee to the hem for extra durability, and the drop-seat design has two-way zippers to the knees, so you can take care of biz and cool off during hot hikes. Removable suspenders add support to these Patagonia ski pants, and gaiters block snow.
Bottom Line: Patagonia's Primo Flash Pants encourage swift speed on any snow hill.
Heh, these were a little expensive but we don't like to shop for gear too often and they were my husband's Christmas present. He loves them because they shed all water and "they feel good".
Patagucci sent me these after the waterproofing on my one year old Primo pants failed. These are a totally different pant. Medium weight, great waterproofing and breathability. Particularly like having the option of dropping the back without taking the suspenders off. Good vents, just enough pockets (pocket on side of left leg has interior strap for your pass) good reinforcements in key areas. I have no complaints, and Patagonia's bomber warranty will never let you down.

I looked at several different pants for skiing/boarding this year. I settled on the Primo Flash for the following reasons: The pant is comfortable and fairly tough with good reinforcement in key areas (rear, sides of cuffs). The pant moves and bends easily without binding. The crotch is a little short, but this seems to work itself out with use (even with thick thermals underneath). The pant is light enough to give you options in layering. Venting is excellent on the sides (not full, however), and allows for a "bombbay" option if necessary. Suspenders at a bit problematic and "light" at first use... but seem to work fine after you get used to them. Good pockets to store gear. Only complaint -- no zipper storm flaps. Even "sealed zippers" will start to leak over time, and a flap would be an improvement in my opinion. Overall, a great pant, and they performed well (even if I didn't!) on the slopes of Mt Werner this year.
Best pants ever. The waist does not ride so high as most ski pants and the closures allow you to expand them for cold days with more layers tcked in. The simplicity is a huge plus. I hated to pay the price for these but it is well worth it.
What else to say, these pants are simply awesome. The look and feel is pretty bomber. They don't have too much on them, and their minimalist design is what I appreciate. I used them in intense cold & windy conditions to warm & wet snow, and I'm still impress every time I use them. Those pants won't let you down, you can count on them, and so is Patagonia's reputation for backing up their products. I really like the design of the gaiter, and the cuff of the pants and they are VERY lightweight. I do ski & snowboard with them, and they are PERFECT for both. My only suggestion is to have a higher waist line/lower crutch, more like the Light Smoke Flash pants. Sometime they almost feel like a pair of low rise pants. I gave them a 5 stars for their design and construction, but If you look for a higher waist pants, maybe the light smoke flash might suite you better, but other than that, they are the real deal. Only pants that are in the same league in my opinion, for both durability and design, are the Arc'Teryx Sidewinder SV.
