Have the last laugh against nasty winter weather in this Gore-Tex bib pant.

In the face of projectile sleet or chest-high blower pow, the Patagonia Men's Powslayer Bib Pant give you complete protection. This brand ambassador bib, revised from last year, sports a new design and Gore-Tex Pro fabric with even better breathability. The RECCO reflector is now embedded at the lower right leg. Whether you're charging big, deep lines in Chile or slogging through an unrelenting onslaught of winter's worst, the Powslayer will be your protector and savoir.

Gore-Tex Pro combines three discrete layers to create a single fabric without slippage between the layers for long-lasting waterproof, breathable protection. Topped off with DWR finish to help water bead on the bib surface, the Powslayer ensures your legs don't get wet from the outside. If you're pulling a sled full of gear and the sun breaks through, external thigh vents unzip so you can cool down and not be wet (with sweat) on the inside.

A gusseted crotch and articulated knees let you huck off a cliff or sidestep up a slope without fear of ripping your pants. The front zipper and drop seat give you easy relief, even when you're dangling over a chasm obscured by swirling snow. Belt loops let you drop the suspenders when you're hiking without also dropping your pants. Gaiters create a snow-resistant seal between the pant and your boot, and scuff guards protect the inside of the pant leg. You can create a virtual snowsuit by attaching the bib to the powder skirt on any Patagonia snow jacket. Four zippered pockets give you storage galore for a flask, energy gels and bars, and sunscreen, just in case.

Here's what others have to say...

3 5

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

I can't comment on the performance of these bibs as i sent them back before taking them outside. They look great, and fit great, but i couldn't tolerate the noise that they made when walking in them. They make a sort of crunchy noise that would definitely irritate me when skinning. This was my first experience with this fabric so this may be the case with all garments made of GoreTex Pro...?

Dry and breathable but not durable...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I purchased these pants right before a trip to BC for a week of back country touring in the Selkirks. The pants kept me dry, blocked wind and where breathable. Fit was also good. Where Patagonia missed the mark with these pants is durability. After just one week of use I have microtears in one knee and on both cuffs. There should be some highly abrasion/cut resistant material sewn into these areas. I'm always willing to pay Patagonia prices IF the product stands the test of time . This is the first product I've had from them that didn't. Quite disappointing for $$$$.

One of our trusty gearheads from our Group Sales dept tests out the waterproof properties of the Patagonia PowSlayer bibs.
After a good 4-5 minutes of dousing, along with rigorous exertion on the Skier's Edge machine to properly simulate downhill skiing our Geearhead weighs in:

"Still Dry"
