Powder-capped peaks are no match for you.

A hike to the top of peaks through thigh-deep powder is almost as pleasant as bombing down it with the Patagonia Women's Powder Bowl Pant on. Its Gore-Tex 2-layer membrane keeps you dry through it all, and it's surprisingly breathable so you don't stifle with heat exhaustion when you pick up the pace. The thigh venting and the brushed mesh lining work together to keep sweat at bay when you're hiking up, and a regular fit gives plenty of room for insulating layers on freezing days.

The Powder Bowl features ankle gaiters to seal snow out, and the gaiters have a DWR finish to stay dry. Scuff guards ensure you keep this amazing pair of pants for multiple seasons. A gusseted crotch helps you hike up the peak, and articulated knees allow you to drop down deep when you bomb downhill.

  • Gore-Tex 2L, fully taped seams
  • Polyester shell with DWR finish
  • Brushed polyester mesh lining at seat and upper thighs, polyester mesh at legs
  • Mesh-lined thigh vents
  • Gaiters with a DWR finish, Scuff guards
  • Gusseted crotch, articulated knees
  • Taffeta waistband with elastic tabs and two-snap closure
  • RECCO at lower right leg

Here's what others have to say...

rip rip.... rip.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

    Size Purchased: XL

So, I love these pants. They're warm, fit great, pockets in convenient locations... I would recommend them to anyone if it weren't for the seaming. I have now ripped two pairs along the seams (before you ask, no, they weren't too tight! I had to cinch my belt down and had fabric bubbles around the waist). Patagonia is fantastic about returns and repairs, but they've both been beyond repair. I won't go in for a third pair since another wet cold butt on a powder day (why do they always rip on powder days??) isn't worth it.

rip rip.... rip.

Life changing

  • Gender:Female
  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:True to size

Seriously, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Raisin is a nice neutral and a great change from my normal boring black. They fit like a dream, are the perfect length (both qualities rare for ski pants in my experience) and are SO comfortable. The seams angle over the knee - to allow easy movement and the waist dips down slightly in front. It's obvious they are really well designed and have great technical features as well - thigh vents are super convenient for dumping heat fast.

I am 5'6" between 125-132 lbs and the small is perfection with two base layers underneath. Thanks Backcountry and Patagonia!

My little sister requests two things out of her ski pants: to look good and stay dry. Enter the Patagonia Powder Bowls. Got her these for Christmas and she has been making her friends jealous ever since. Here is what she had to say:

"I like where these pants hit you. there not too high or low and the stay up nicely. The color is fun and when skiing I'm able to bend down and stand up without any complications. I've never had a pair of ski pants that fit me better!"

  • Fit:Runs large

I was told the following:

They run slightly big, but thanks to the adjustable waist, they fit perfectly. They kept me warm and dry while skiing. The thigh vents are an adequate size and prevented me from overheating. Highly recommended.

Do these run big or small? Normally I'm...

Do these run big or small? Normally I'm between a 2 and 4 with Patagonia pants (and most other brands too).

I bought a large and they are huge on me. I am normally a size 6. I should have kept for medium. I still had room in the mediums so you may be good with a small. If you like things fitted, definitely go with a small. I like baggy.

Patagonia has changed their sizing so their pants run normal in the waist but super tight in the quads/thighs. Not great for ski pants, so I'd size up if you're on the fence.
