Let the Patagonia Women’s Powder Bowl Jacket comfort you when the alarm goes off long before the sun comes up. This waterproof breathable ski shell gives you full weather protection on early dawn patrols and lift-accessed skiing alike. Patagonia sandwiched a waterproof breathable H2No layer between a recycled polyester shell and a mesh lining, so you stay dry and comfortable, no matter the conditions or terrain. A variety of pockets hold your ski pass, camera, and goggles. When the sun’s blazin’, zip off the adjustable hood and open up the pit-zips for max air flow. When you’ve beaten the jacket to tatters, send it back to Patagonia’s Common Threads Recycling Program.
Bottom Line: Wake at 4 a.m., put on Powder Bowl Jacket, go skiing, repeat.
I have always been a fan of Patagonia, but they have really out done themselves with this jacket. I bought my first Patagonia gortex shell 20+ years ago and it just recently lost some of its waterproofing and the zipper is starting to snag. I expect this jacket to last just as long. We just went skiing this past weekend and it was a wet, cold one. I was dry and warm. I layered it with their down sweater jacket. The small fit my 130lb., 5'7" frame perfectly with 2 layers underneath. The collar zippers up high and kept my face warm and dry on the ski lift. The purple color is great too. The jacket hits just below my waist but the skirt fits snugly and no snow got in. This jacket is worth every penny and I am sure to enjoy it for a long time.
From the sizing chart, it seems I'm a medium on top and a large on the bottom. How long is the jacket (from back neckline to bottom so I know where to take the hip measurement? Thanks.
it hits pretty high on the hip, so you will probably be fine in the medium; however, compared to a brand like North Face, Patagonia runs a little bit smaller (very similar to arc'teryx).

What a great jacket! I didn't know if I would like a shell jacket but this one is awesome! This jacket fits true to size. I am a medium which is what I ordered and I was able to wear 3-4 layers (depending on daily temps) very comfortably. The hood could be a bit bigger as it did not fit well over my helmet. Pockets galore and jacket is light in weight so I never felt like "Hulk" as I have in other 3 in 1 jackets. Well worth the investment and also the bright color makes me easy to spot when skiing with the kids!
How does the sizing work for this jacket? I am tall and small - wear an xs patagonia dress. I have an arcteryx jacket in a womens small its too short in the arms and torso, but too large (round and boxy) in the torso as well. Is there somewhere in Van BC that sells this jacket so I can go try it on?
Yes, Great for tall & small. sounds like we are the same size. get this jacket in medium...long enough in arms & torso, room for some layers for resort or BC-skiing, and looks pretty blingin'. The small was a bit too short, but the medium was not bulky. I was very impressed. OTHER Good recommendations as a tall & small chick (i am always on the hunt & have the same frustratiosn with shortness and biggness:-Arcteryx Stingray Jacket-Patagonia Shelter Storm Jacket (not ski specific, but an awesome hardshell with great fit. Again, size Medium.-Patagonia hooded down seater (unisex XS)-Patagonia Powder Bowl Pant (finally...a pant that is a WOMAN's pant and is long enough. My pet peeve is that they are usually super tight and poorly fitting across thigh & hip, AND too short. This is a baggier fit, with extra length, but still feels great in hip/thigh/waist. If you are an aggressive or active person that just moves your body a lot skiing this pant is AWESOME and I love that it is long enough...pretty heavy duty (nice if you live in the land of COLD, dark winters and chugach cement, but really good venting. Had my first BC day in them skiing on a local glacier last weekend and loved them. Shout out to Patagonia for having some stuff this year that tall & small women can wear!
