Very solid WARM tights

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Bought these to use as a base layer with shell pants on cold days and they work great! The only complain is that there is no elastic gaiters at the bottom and the stitching in this area does not allow stretching, so I'm having hard times rolling this tights up keeping them out of my ski boots.

I'm 6'2, 230 lbs with muscular legs and size Large fits me perfectly.

Awesome tights layer

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Great for running, climbing, and playing in the snow. Fuzzy layer that lasts, wicks, and dries well.

Thick heavy duty stuff

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I typically only wear shell ski pants with no insulation so I wanted a warm base layer for my legs on those brutully cold days. These things feel super toasty and are relatively thick which will add to the durability. I'm 6'1 165-170lbs and the large fits perfect

Comfortable, warm, and snug

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I'm stoked on the new Piton fabric for cold weather climbing, it feels less "clammy" than the Capilene 4 equivalent and still provides more warmth with less weight. The soft fabric also feels great next to skin and can layer nicely with Cap 2 bottoms for colder summit climbs. I' m disappointed that there is no pee flap/zip though, so going to the bathroom with multiple layers and a harness on in -30F is more difficult than ideal. This was an easy fix at the seamstress though . . .

I doubt they do, but does the Piton Bottoms have hand pockets?

It does not have traditional pockets but the elasticized front waistband has a hidden internal key pocket with fabric keeper loop.

super duper warm

Looking for a replacement for the old Patagonia Capilene 4? This is just an updated version of that fabric, and even a touch warmer. Super warm, and super durable. Functions well as a next to skin baselayer, or a great mid layer, or as a pair of cool weather tights.
