Best wicking bras on the market!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I have been using Patagonia sports bra's for the past 15 years. I spend a lot of time in the backcountry - hiking, cycling, mountain biking, snowboarding - puffing up hills, then whizzing down them. I rely on my whole system of clothing working together to keep me dry and comfortable and your sports bras is the first layer in that system and totally worth the investment in quality.

I have tried other sports bra's on and off but keep coming back to these as they are the only ones that truly work to keep you dry on long days.

I am a B/C cup and I find the support to be perfect for all the sports that I do.

NO CHAFING ON LONG RUNS = happy girl! :)

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I am a 36B (but headed toward A with all the weight I have lost, I suppose) so I initially got a Large after reading that they run small. But after the second long run (over 15 miles, very sweaty), I had some chafing below my chest - even though the band was so soft and comfortable. After reading Kayla's post below, I went down to a Medium and haven't had any more problems. I am using Aquaphor on that area until it heals totally, but I ran a couple times without it just to test it - and no more chafing at all. Now I own 3 and will never go back to other bras for running.

Great Bra

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My wife purchased this bra to use during weight lifting and running. She found it to be not too supportive for running, but great for weight lifting, biking, or pilates.

Patagonia wins!

I just picked up the baleine nile blue the other day, and absolutely love it. The color is super cute, and the material is comfortable as ever- and does a good job at wicking moisture as well. I've always loved Patagonia's active wear, and this is no exception. I am a 32DD, and the Medium works great for low impact sports, but for high activity, I opt for the size Small.
Definitely worth the moneys, this sports bra is a winner!

How supportive is this bra for a D cup? I...

How supportive is this bra for a D cup? I have the now extinct, 2008 Patagonia "24/7 Active Sport High Impact Bra C/D" Sports bra & I want a similar product.

Responded on

I have never used the Active Sport High Impact Bra, but this one definitely works if it's tight (I have used Patagonia 1 size down for high impact sports, and it's worked great). If you do opt for the regular size, I would recommend sticking to more mellow activities such as hiking, bikes, etc.
