The Patagonia One Bag answers a classic dilemma: how to pack for overnight when you also need your computer? With room for a change of clothes, toiletries and a protective laptop pocket, you can take just one bag—comfortably. Two main compartments respectively house a padded laptop sleeve and a floating mesh pocket that functions as a compression panel for clothes. An ergonomically-shaped Human Curve® shoulder strap, coated to avoid slipping, tucks cleanly into a zippered compartment. It has two externally-accessible main pockets with water resistant zips. The larger pocket has organizational sleeves to prevent that black hole phenomenon. The second mesh pocket provides visibility and airflow for funky clothes. The key retainer lets you quickly grab car keys without stopping to fish in the parking lot. Built with “bombproof” 630-denier basket weave nylon and fully lined with nylon pack cloth. Details like Latigo leather handles last for decades, increasingly softening to your hand; YKK® coil zippers with lockable sliders withstand desperate overstuffing; and rounded edges prevent early wear. Comes with an ID tag.

Bottom Line: You'll use this bag a ton and it's built to outlast the planes you're flying on.

Great bag! Perfect for overnights

By: Backcountry.com Employee

I bought this bag for my husband to use when he travels on quick overnights for business. It fits his work documents, two changes of clothing, a size 13 pair of running shoes, his iPod/charger and all his toiletry stuff with room to spare. He loves the bag. It's extra tough and very compact.

Poor design on shoulder strap (Don't buy this!!)

By:

The shoulder strap design on this bag needs to be fixed! The tri glider is easy to loosen up, causing the bag to drop. I was traveling with my PC and two files (less than 10lb) in my new Patagonia One Bag when all of sudden the bag hit the floor! My PC was destroyed and had to have the hard drive removed by a shop that afternoon. Never mind my business trip was ruined. After I came home I noticed the shoulder strap’s tri glider doesn’t catch the webbing, and cause it to slip. What a cheap design!! I thought I finally found a non-corporate looking bag for my job, but this thing is SO BAD! Not recommended at all.

Looks like the 2007 model is permanently out of stock. Comparable Patagonia bags are the Lightwire and Half Mass.

Versatile bag

By:

It met my expectations. You can use it as a backpack or sling it as a messenger. Great commuter bag for your laptop and its accessories. It will even fit few extra items. Couple of minor gripes: covered zippers may make it more waterproof but makes it difficult to access. Also, with the laptop in the padded pouch, it's not too balanced when using the grab handles.

One Bag does it All

By:

Quite possibly the best travel bag ever. It fits under the seat or in the overhead compartment with no trouble. Yet it will hold a weeks worth of clothes. The different compartments are well thought out. You can actually get to your computer when the bag is full. Understated and classy (you can take it to any boardroom) but durable and functional. A great bag from Patagonia.
