Protect yourself from not-so-nano puffs of cool air during your fall frolicking.

As summer heat starts to wane, outdoor adventures remain plentiful. On its own or under a shell, the Patagonia Women's Nano Puff Insulated Vest provides lightweight, compressible, and windproof insulation for your fall follies. The physical structure of PrimaLoft One insulation mimics the structure of feathers, trapping warm air as it leaves your body and creating a thermal barrier between surrounding cooler air and your body. Likewise, the warmth-to-weight ratio for PrimaLoft One is similar to down in that it offers substantive warmth without substantive weight. However, unlike down, PrimaLoft One only loses 4% of its insulating capacity when wet, which makes this vest an ideal choice when moisture may be factor.

Along the insulation spectrum of Patagonia's puffy vests, the Nano Puff flirts with the low end in terms of warmth. When worn alone, this vest keeps your core toasty during an early October football game or when you're cragging or simply walking between classes as leaves begin to fall. While the Deluge DWR treatment handles light drizzle, you should throw a shell over the Nano Puff vest when nasty storms and winds howl the entrance of cooler days. A zipper garage protects your chin from chafing, and the brick quilting pattern prevents the insulation from settling and creating cold zones on your body. The chest pocket doubles as a self-stuff sack so you can easy store the Puff in your tote bag or daypack.

  • 22D recycled polyester
  • Deluge DWR treatment
  • 60g PrimaLoft
  • Internal storm flap on center zipper
  • Internal chest pocket doubles as stuff sack
  • Drawcord-adjustable hem

Wish it had a double zip :(

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

I absolutely LOVE the golden amber color of this series. I was so excited to add this vest to my gear collection. But I was a little surprised at the fit of the hips on this vest; the XS fit perfectly everywhere, including my bust (I am 5'5", 118 pounds, and a 32D), but the hips were super duper if I wore jeans instead of spandex, I don't think I would have been able to zip this guy up. If there were a double zip, or a looser hip fit with a generous adjustable draw cord, this would have solved the problem. Instead, I had to reluctantly size up to a small, which fits my hips great, but is a bit loose everywhere else. Considering the price tag, I'm not sure if this will be a keeper or not...

Just for kicks, I tried on the sweater for size comparison in the small versus XS and I experienced the same hip sizing problem. At least they are consistent! I am just surprised since I have never encountered this problem with their sizing in the past :( Bummers...please add double zip!!

What is the center back length of a medium?

Great Vest!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This vest fits true to size, is a tad longer so my 5'10" frame is covered in the back. The vest is very lightweight, easy to pack and provides just the right amount of warmth. I was never cold nor was I hot. Took it to Yellowstone where temps can swing wildly and I was perfectly comfortable. Nice pockets, great colors! Get it, you will love it!

Blazing fast shipping from Backcountry!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I practically lived in my old (3 years?) nano puff vest, and have been waiting for more interesting colors to be available before purchasing another. I ordered the same size I had before (XS). I'm 5'5, 125 lbs, small busted. The new vest is about 2 inches longer than my old one, but since it goes farther down on the hips it should be a bit wider at the bottom. Other than that it fits well under my arms and around my bust.

Sweet Vest

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

Bought this for my 71 year old mom. She is still quite active hiking the AT. She has worn it casually as well as on a few day hikes. He was impressed with how warm and lightweight it is.

My wife loves this vest. I think she is addicted to wearing it. I'm jealous of how much she loves it. Fits well, provides warmth and coziness without it being too much. Guys - get one for your lady! She'll thank you for it.

Comfy & Stylish

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is such a nice vest! Best used for leisure wear, layering, snowshoeing/hiking on warmer days..etc.

It's an 'insulated' vest but it's a very light one. (Only 60g insulation)

I have the Blue Butterfly color-- which actually has a hint of purple to it (in certain lighting) I was expecting a more bright blue color, but the occasional purple that comes out is actually pretty nice. The interior is also a bright teal which I love!

The vest has two hand pockets, and one internal chest pocket. The arm holes have a little elasticity to them for a snug fit (but not too snug)

I'm about 5'3''- a little on the petite side and my usual size for shirts/jackets etc. is a size small- which I got in this vest and it's a perfect fit!

Light and Bright

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

The vest is super light. When I put it on I was shocked at how light it was. The first thing I noticed was the bright red color I selected. So noticeable and attractive to the eye. Fits true to size, good light weight vest!
