    Amazing Insulated Layer

    • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit:True to size

I purchased this jacket for my cousin for Christmas. She absolutely loved it and had some things to share. She told me that this is her all around daily jacket during the winter. She can just grab it and go. It is light and packable yet keeps you extremely warm down to about 25 degrees Fahrenheit obviously depending on who you are. She says when she goes snowboarding she chooses to use this as a layer underneath her shell and it works great for adding that little bit extra warmth. Great choice for any outdoorsy girl.

    Not-so-Nano on the warmth

    • Size Bought: Extra-Large

I got this as a gift for my mom and she loves it. This jacket keeps her very warm when she takes our dog out in the snow and cold; and the hood fits great over her hair. This will definitely be her winter jacket for years to come. She really likes the slim look of it and the fit is spot on.

    finally!

    • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit:True to size

Finally ponied up for a Nano Puff when they were on sale through Backcountry (thanks for the huge discount!). So far I love it. It's warmer than other light insulating layers I've worn (I've walked the dog in it at 20F and been fine). Fits perfectly... more relaxed than a lot of women's fits. Even on sale it was a bit spendy, but I'm stoked! Can't wait to drag it up and down mountains all over the Wasatch!

    Great jacket, fit somewhat odd

I'm always cold, and I'm always skeptical that anything this thin can keep me adequately warm. But once again, Patagonia delivers. It takes a minute for the jacket to trap your body heat, but once it does, you feel nice and cozy. It also offers relatively good wind protection. I have the world's narrowest shoulders, so you can imagine my surprise that the XS I initially purchased was too tight across the back! Hips, too. (I'm 5'7", 123# and typically wear XS in Patagonia jackets and sweaters.) I returned it for a small, which fits well enough, but it definitely is not designed for anyone with even modest curves. Love the cheery blue color.

      Perfect Patagonia

      • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I love this jacket. I have struggled with Patagonia in the past because I'm tall, have a long torso and arms, and have found their tops to be too short for both. But the new nanor jackets delivered! I am 5'9, and a medium was perfect for me. It has a little room because I'm pretty active in it and didn't want any restriction in motion. I wear this jacket as a skiing layer, running, or to work.

      Great jacket worth every penny

      • Familiarity:I've used it several times
      • Fit:True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

For such a thin, almost weightless, jacket this is really warm. It also does a good job at keeping the wind out. I've only had it for a couple of months and really like it. A lot. It fits me like a glove. I'm 5'5" tall and weigh 125 and I ordered a medium. I tend to like my clothes more on the baggy side rather than tight fitting so this may fit loosely for anyone looking for a more form fitted look. The sleeves are a perfect length and the cuffs are just tight enough. It appears to be made of quality materials and constructed to last. I hope to have this jacket for a very long time.

      Great jacket, bad model

      • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit:True to size
      • Size Bought: XS

I'm 5'3 and 120 lbs (muscular), and I ordered this in a XS which was perfect. It was comfortable and I could layer a pea coat over it with ease. This jacket kept me warm in mild snow conditions and blocked winds awesomely. I really dug this jacket, except for the fact that as soon as I received it, the seams began to fray and continued to do so. I kept it throughout the winter and the fraying did not seem to affect the performance of the jacket. I recently sent the jacket to patagonia to be fixed/returned and I got a full refund back. I think the 2014 model just had some defects, because I read a handful of other reviews with the same issues. I'd still highly recommend this jacket, and hopefully the next year's model fixes the issues that were present with this one!

      Stoked on it!

      • Size Bought: Small

I'm a petite lady, 5'1" 115lbs and ordered a small. I had tried on an extra small a few months back but it was tight in the chest area (full D) so I got the small. It fits almost perfectly. The arm length is a little long but not so long that it's not functional. I will be able to layer it and wear a thicker long sleeve under it if need be.I'm very pleased with my purchase. I can't wait to wear it!

      Versatile, great fit

Love the fit of this jacket- I wear it all the time. Recently spent 12 days on a glacier in the Alaska Range, and this was my go-to jacket for active days. Light enough to breath while moving, but perfect to keep me warm in the snow over a couple of good base layers.

      Couldn't move

      • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
      • Fit:Runs small
      • Size Bought: Small

Seems like this would be a great jacket. Perfect length on body and arms. Did not run big in the body as others had implied. I couldn't get the jacket across my shoulders. It was so tight under the armpits. I feared I was going to rip it across the back like the Hulk. I'm sad because I thought I finally found the perfect coat. I don't think a medium will help because it will be huge all over then. I think that if you have an athletic frame you may have difficulty being comfortable in this product.

      Almost perfect!

      • Familiarity:I've used it several times
      • Fit:True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

The Fit: I ordered both the small and the medium in this jacket. I'm 5'9" and 145 lbs, carrying much of my weight in my lower half. The small fit me perfectly - very flattering and fitted, but I wouldn't have been able to layer much underneath. I kept the medium as this is a lightweight jacket that works well in a layering system. I agree with other reviewers that the body fits a little loose while the bottom of the jacket is a bit tighter. The sleeves are long enough (yay!) for my longer arms but they do seem a bit wider than I had anticipated. Maybe Patagonia will some day come out with a slim fit version as others have suggested.

Warmth: This jacket has kept me pretty warm so far in northern CA, Lake Tahoe, Reno, and now in Colorado but I would say that on cold, cold days you will definitely need a good layering system in place or a heavier down jacket if you aren't interested in that. :) It has held up nicely even on windy days.

Overall, I would recommend this jacket to a friend! I ordered the black and I think it looks great with everything. Happy trails. :)

      Living in this 24/7

      • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit:True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

I'm obsessed with this jacket! Literally never taking it off. I love the Andes Blue color - nice and bright but easily goes with pretty much everything. I bought this to wear to work - for some reason we like to crank the AC all year long here at Backcountry and I was tired of freezing to death at my desk. Also stoked to wear this on cool summer nights, and as an insulating layer on super cold days!

Other things I love about this jacket:
Synthetic insulation is awesome because it does retain heat even when wet
Zippered hand pockets and an internal zippered chest pocket
      Fitted hood
Brick style baffles - kind of unique styling and really flattering
Packs down really well so it is great to travel with!

Like one other reviewer said - This does fit loose in the torso. I agree that it would be great to see Patagonia make a slim fitted jacket like this with a slightly longer length. In this case, the looser fit doesn't take away from the shape of the jacket for me - it is flattering and that little extra spaces just adds to the comfort!

      An Oregon all-weather staple

      • Familiarity:I've used it several times
      • Fit:True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

Great jacket for all conditions. Can be worn as an outer layer and not have to worry about it getting wet because of the synthetic insulation. Also a great mid layer to wear under a ski or rain jacket. I've worn it in 30-50 degree weather so far and has felt great.

Fit: I have a Medium...I'm 5'10" and weigh about 140lbs. The body length and arm length are great! Impressive really. Someone shorter might find it to be a bit long in those areas. My recommendation for Patagonia would be to offer this jacket, or one similar, in a slim cut option. This jacket is a regular cut and is a little loose in the torso area. On the flip side, it gives you enough room for a couple light layers underneath.

My only complaint would be that the wrist elastic cuffs are a bit loose (maybe I have skinny wrists?). They tend to slide down over my hands a bit. I tried on several at REI and for some reason this only seems to be a problem with the Black jacket. The other colors had tighter wrist cuffs. Weird.

      Warm Texan in a blizzard

      • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit:True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

I bought this jacket for a trip to Boston last month. It got me through 6 days of walking through a blizzard. Not too heavy, warm, and great fit. Plus the color is fun and highly visible!

I could've easily worn a small but I got the medium so I'd have room for layers.

      Patagonia Rocks

      • Familiarity:I've used it several times
      • Fit:True to size

This jacket is great for when you don't need the extra warmth of down. It has a great slimming fit and the hood truly hugs your neck and head to keep wind out. Very warm alone and exceptional for layering. Throw it in your back pack even in warmer months, to throw on once you've summited a windy mountain top! Waiting for more colors to go on sale so I can add to my collection :-)

      The perfect windbreaker

This was taken on a relatively warm day, but winds were INTENSE, making it a lot colder of a day on a fast moving boat. You can see how intense the wind was by looking at the hood (it doesn't normally sit that high). I was super warm and cozy with my nano puff on!

      The perfect windbreaker

My go-to jacket - warm, comfy, light

      • Familiarity:I've used it several times
      • Fit:Runs small

This jacket is simply amazing and worth the investment. I've owned "puffy coats" for years, but was getting tired of the typical bulk, especially when trying to be active. I wanted something lightweight that I could easily move around in, and something that I could stuff into my backpack. This jacket is both of those things and more.

I've worn this to work (it's classy, esp. in black), cross-country skiing (warm but not too warm, esp. if you just unzip it), and snowshoeing. The temps have been down as low as -20 degrees, and I'm not shivering.

Perhaps my favorite part about the jacket is the hood, which increases the warmth ten-fold. My boyfriend says it makes me look like the "uni-bomber", but who cares?! When I wore this on a boat during a super windy day with the hood up, I felt immune to the wind.

I'm 5'2, 150 lbs., muscular and curvy. And as far as sizing goes, I think this jacket is a little small in some weird spots for me. The medium fit well everywhere, except the hips. The large is better in the hips, but obviously that means it's a bit bigger everywhere else. For me, that's fine, because I like to layer. Just something to consider for all you curvy women.

I'll be taking this Nano Puff along with me on my AT thru-hike this year!

      Love this coat!

Bottom line: this is my go to jacket for almost everything. Wish I had bought one last season.

I had a couple of friends with nanopuff jackets and have wanted one for a while. I finally broke down and got one right before I left to go hike Mt Kilimanjaro. This jacket has been just as great as I hoped it would be. It is warm, extremely packable, and looks great on the trail and around town. I have worn it as an outer and a mid layer and it functions great as both. I was sure glad I got it for Kilimanjaro. I wore it every day.

In the two months I have had this, It has been hiking in several countries and all around my home state of Alaska. I can't wait to take it out skiing once the snow sets up.

As far as fit, it is true to size. I wear a medium in almost all outdoor gear. 5'6, 145#.

My only complaint is the stitching. I snagged some thread on one of the arms when I was unpacking it from its pocket. Now the thread is a little bunched and I have a loop on the arm. Some friends with the same coat have the same problem. I would imagine that with Patagonia's customer service, they would repair it if I called them. Really doesn't bother me enough to do anything about it.

The hood is also a nice feature :) Also, love the blue color.

      Everybody needs this coat!

Does it compress into an inside zipper pocket?

Indeed it does! In the woman's jacket, the interior stow pocket should be on the upper left. When you stash it, there's even a handy little loop so you can hook it on to a carabiner were you so inclined. An awesome jacket for sure.

Any chance backcountry will be getting the women's hooded nano puff in whiskey plum any time soon? Thanks.
