Warm as a midlayer or outer jacket.

The Patagonia Men's Nano Puff Hooded Insulated Jacket is your go-to layer for any cold occasion whether it is morning ski sessions or rappelling in the dark, and it works as your top jacket for walking across town in the winter. The recycled polyester has a DWR finish, a slick feel, and a sleek look. When it gets too warm, you can pack this Nano down into its chest pocket and clip it to your harness or pack for later when it gets cold again.

    • Ultralight recycled polyester has a DWR finish to repel water, and wind glides over its slick coating so you stay warm in cold conditions
    • PrimaLoft One polyester insulation provides warmth even if it gets wet and allows the jacket to pack down small
    • Elasticized hood covers most low-volume helmets or compresses under any helmet to add warmth to your head
    • Stuff this hooded in its chest pocket and use the pocket's loop to attach it to your carabiner so you can take it with you on full-day excursions
    • Dual-adjusted drawcord hem keeps cold out and heat in
    • Two hand-warming pockets and one chest pocket

    Patti green large

Most comfy jacket ever! It's so extremely lightweight and breaths well while keeping me surprisingly warm. You will probably need a shell or a thicker coat if in below freezing conditions. I had the red one which looked a bit pink and traded for green. I'm extremely stoked on this buy.

      Great Jacket!!!

      • Familiarity:I've used it several times
      • Fit:True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

I ordered a Medium and I am 5 foot 8 inches tall and 150 lbs and it fits great. This jacket is magic, it is so light but keeps my so warm. I do not know how it does it. I live in Chicago so it can get very cold here, but when I wore this as a mid layer under my winter jacket I actually got too hot. However, it was not that cold that day, only like 10 degrees F. It will be good to have for when it gets even colder, which it does in Chicago. Love this jacket.

      Comfy as can be

      • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This jacket is so comfy, it features 60g of synthetic insulation. That means that it is a fairly lightweight jacket. I use this as a layering piece when I head into the mountains because it breathes really well, is versatile, and can stuff into it's own pocket. I'd recommend this to anyone who needs a lightweight layering piece.

      Perfect Jacket

I got this for Christmas and have probably worn it every day since.

It's perfect. I've worn it at work (teaching), chopping wood during a wing storm, walking around town in temps from 30°-60° and it's always perfect. It breaths well, it's super light, fits great. I love how the hood actually closes around you're neck and makes the jacket seem even warmer. If it's real cold, the hood is the perfect addition. I've been down to the 20°s and still felt perfectly comfy in this. I love it.

      Great Xmas present!

      • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit:True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

Probably the best Xmas present I've given, ever. The cut appears a little boxy, but that grows on you in time. It's a do-it-all down jacket that you can use as an insulating ski layer, camping jacket, or just around town on cool late summer nights. Oh, did I mention that my brother never took it off the entire Xmas day? Yeah, it's that comfortable.

      Great jacket

Great jacket that keeps you warm even below freezing. The only bad thing about this jacket is the stitching is not all that durable. Several jackets have had the stitching starting to come apart after a few weeks

      Very versatile!

      • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I previously owned a NanoPuff for several years without the hood and loved it- until the zipper broke. Tried fixing it, but it couldn't be remedied. That said, I knew it was still a quality product because it never lost its insulation despite a small tear in the fabric (which happened unexpectedly from the jacket catching onto a metal door gate by accident). Since I have a few upcoming winter trips, I didn't hesitate to buy the hooded version.

I'm only 5'1" and 130lbs, but I have a athletic/broad build in the back and shoulders, so I purchased the medium purposely so I could fit a layer or two underneath when needed. I had the M in the non-hooded version and wore it frequently over a t-shirt, but I found the hooded version to be a little roomier. So initially I was surprised at how roomy it was with just a t-shirt on underneath; in that case I'd be better off in a size small. However I can layer my R1 and my Marmot ROM jacket under it and it's still plenty comfortable, or sometimes when I'm not in the backcountry I wear just my R1 or a light to medium sweatshirt jacket underneath. It's been a colder winter in the SF bay area than we normally experience it, so it's been great that way, to have over a sweatshirt jacket. The hood is a little large for my head, but then again I have a smaller head compared to most adults. However it doesn't feel awkward on my head as most jacket hoods have, and it keeps my head toasty in the mornings as I head out to my car. Overall though, it's perfect!

I love wearing this jacket everywhere from camping and backpacking to around town to driving to at the crag in the winter and fall, even in the spring and summer time since it gets chilly in the late afternoons in NorCal. I have a down parka for higher altitude environments and winter camping, but this jacket will definitely be coming with me on my winter trips to the Tahoe and Lassen area.

      Nano Puff Hoodie

Great jacket! I have had mine for five years now and have no complaints. I am warm natured and this jacket is always warm enough for me. I don't usually wear it skiing because the hood, I wear my non-hooded Nano. I have worn this hiking and the nylon is resistant to tears and catching. This jacket is durable, warm, and compact. The quilting provides exceptional consistence in warmth. I have owned other down jackets that settle and have coo, spots but haven't experienced that with my Nano. 5/5 for me without a doubt. I don't see any improvements that can be made.

Pretty good, but not the most durable

        • Familiarity:I've used it several times
        • Fit:True to size

I like this jacket, and have worn it almost everyday since purchase. Prior to this I have owned a TNF Thermoball and an LL Bean Packaway, and compared to both, this is more comfortable, a better fit (for my body type), slightly more windproof, and more aesthetically pleasing (IMO). As an insulation layer, I've worn this comfortably on hikes and around basecamp in the windy teens with minimal issue. It is also my go to outerwear on short trips around town.

The craftsmanship, however is BS for a $250 jacket! Within days of delivery, I've had two stitches come loose and thought about returning it. Although it hasn't happened yet, I predict even more loose stitches and potential ripping of the fabric if even lightly brushed against a small branch or a rock. For a jacket made for climbers, you would assume a certain level of durability.

In summary, it functions well both for active use in a layering system or for city use as outerwear. It looks great and feels great, but if your'e looking for something that can withstand years of abuse, I cannot recommend this jacket.

        Versatile!

I wear this everyday, everywhere. No matter what I'm doing it is a very comfortable and light weight jacket with great warmth. Very pack-able as well. Love the elastic band on the wrists and the hood to keep out snow and for protection from wind. Convenient inside chest zip pocket along with 2 outside zip pockets. Really great overall puffy!

        Most versatile jacket I own

        • Familiarity:I've used it several times
        • Fit:True to size
        • Size Bought: medium

If you live in an area with mild weather, this will be the jacket you wear everyday. I purchased this jacket for hiking in the Carolina mountain country, but ended up wearing it everyday to class and so forth; it is incredibly lightweight yet will keep you warm without any additional layers as long as the temp is above 35 deg F. It is too warm to wear in a cool office (71 deg F). The insulation is very interesting in my opinion; it seems as if there isn't anything there but it keeps you quite toasty when you are hitting the trails. I am also a huge fan of the fit. I am 5ft 11in, 170lbs, and the medium might be the most appropriately fitting piece of clothing I own. I've always struggled with outerwear as my arms always way too long, but patagonia has the fit down to a T and I couldn't be happier.

        the perfect jacket

I have a few 700 fill down jackets that are pretty heavy and don't pack well. So i have been looking for a light weight and smaller pack able down jacket. The first time I used it i fell in love. I read it was alittle water but i used it in the rain and it kept my completely dry. I have climbed in it and skiing and have packed it into another ski jacket when i did not need it. It holds up to a lot and is very light. I would recommend this to anyone who is outdoors and can put something to real use.

        Wow

        • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Size Bought: XL

This jacket is flat out amazing. I wore it out fly fishing in a blizzard with blowing snow and 25 degrees, it kept me plenty warm with only a t-shirt underneath and had no adverse affects with the moisture. I would wait until I have more experience with it to comment on the durability, but there are so many other reviews commenting on this subject that I feel it does not need another review commenting on it.

I was hesitant to get this because there were not many people commenting on the temperature capabilities, but I am SO GLAD that I did. It has exceeded all of my expectations so far. Definitely buy it if you are trying to decide which puffy to purchase. Also, the fit is amazing, most jackets are much too short on the sleeves, but this fits perfect (I have very long arms).

Great Fit and Warmth, Poor Construction

        • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I wanted to love this coat so much. It was lightweight, warm, and fit great. Unfortunately, the stitching in the sleeve began to come undone after only wearing the coat for one week. I ended up returning the coat and ordering a new one immediately, assuming that I had just received a defective coat. After wearing the new coat for less than a week, I am experiencing the same problem. Be aware that the stitching of this coat is not very durable!

        Ehh

        • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This jacket is very light weight and very versatile. Yes it is thin and has nice features (like keeping you warm when wet) but it lacks the classic warmth that would make it worth the money. It also it not resistant to wind at all. I paired it with a top of the line gortex shell from north face and it still could barely keep me mildly. Its ok with a shell but not when worn alone.

        Warmth throughout the year

After eyeing this jacket for about a year i was able to finally able to pick it up on sale at the beginning of fall last year. North East weather can be tricky to guess, this puffy makes a great tool. The comfort and warmth of the prima loft insulation makes this my go to jacket all year round. Having the ability to stow n go, i can stuff this in my bag and grab it when i need it for those chilly summer nights on the beach, or layering up on the trail.

I'm a Ultralight hiker by force rather than choice. My lungs aren't the best, and so I look for gear that is light, effective, and from a company with a good reputation. The Nano Puff hits all three of those. Construction is great with even stitching and strong seams, the fit is athletic but still roomy enough for a mid layer underneath, and it is toasty warm. Here in the South East we get more rain than snow quite often, and while it may weight a bit more than down, synthetic insulation really shines when it comes to jackets.

        Light, warm, great value

I have had this for the better part of 8 months. I have worn it on hikes, camping, biking, snowshoeing, and just wandering around town. Following are my impressions on the fit, warmth, and value of this jacket.

Fit: True to size. I am 6' 5'' with really long arms. Most brands (TNF in particular) do not fit my arms very well. I usually have to get a boxy fitting jacket in XL or a small-sleeved jacket in L. The Nanopuff fits EXACTLY as it should. Not too long in the sleeves or torso, not too short. I can reach my arms up without the cuffs sliding halfway down my arm, but the sleeves don't bunch up too much when my arms are at my side.

It is neither an athletic fit or a normal fit. I would put it right in between. This makes it easy to layer, but remain good looking when it's a bit warmer and extra layers are not needed.

Warmth: The Primaloft does its job. I have worn it (with proper layering) down to the low 20s and even below. Throw on a fleece underneath with a nice merino wool base for the best performance.

For the most part, it blocks the wind. I use it on rides to work and mountain biking, and I always have to open it up to breath at some point. It is treated with DWR, so light rain is a non-issue. Anything heavier, and you might want to toss on a shell. That said, the jacket will still insulate you despite being wet.

Value: Fit and warmth alone should warrant ease of mind in the purchase of the Nano Puff. However, what makes it even better is its supreme compress-ability, feather-light weight, and durability (I had it stuffed under a seat for a few months during fire season with no damage done). Overall, it is an incredible value and ought to last quite a few hard years.

Hi, Can you tell me the back and sleeve length of a medium please? Thanks
