The Powder Bowl combines 2-Layer Gore-Tex and synthetic insulation to fend off the nastiest Winter chill.

Everyone knows that the snow is the lightest and the turns are sweetest when winter is through messing around and gets down to some serious cold weather. Patagonia certainly knows, and proves it with the insulated Powder Bowl Pant. Patagonia backs up the Powder Bowl's guaranteed waterproof breathable laminate with strategically placed 60g Thermogreen insulation. And, as always, Gore Tex means guaranteed waterproof and guaranteed breathable, so you can handle anything that nature throws your way without feeling moist and clammy.

Patagonia designed the Powder Bowl with 2-Layer Gore-Tex. While slightly less resistant to abrasion than 3-Layer Gore-Tex, 2-Layer is more supple, more flexible, and the fabric tends to be quieter. The main body fabric is 150D polyester, which is both durable and soft to the touch. To keep you warm when the snow flies in the dead of winter, Patagonia loaded the Powder Bowl with synthetic insulation in the areas where you need it most. Tough, reinforced kick patches at the ankles fight off attacks by sharp ski edges, so your cuffs won't fill up with snow after a run in the deep stuff.

The Powder Bowl pant's fit is Progressive, which is Patagonia-speak for loose. The highly articulated fit moves with you while you hike or ski and feels comfortable and natural, and the articulated knees and gusseted crotch add to this feel. Zippered thigh vents make it easy to dump heat when you need to. Patagonia finished the pant off with a Recco reflector, which aids in search and rescue should you become involved in an avalanche.

  • Tough polyester face fabric with Gore-Tex 2-Layer membrane and DWR

Here's what others have to say...

Flex Fit, not too baggy, but insanely wa

  • Gender:Male
  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Insulation is what sets these pants oodles of pockets.
The fit is loose, plenty of room for the more athletic build. The key differentiator is the the areas that matter and the resilience of the fabric. I wear these daily in the field and love them...
I'm 6ft, waist 38-40 (don't judge!) a good craft beer...these fit in xl with room to have a few only criticism is the cuff tends to ride up, despite powder skirt pulled down.

I love these pants

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I wear them all the time riding the lifts in CO. Very warm, dry, comfy. Can vent if you need to. FYI, I do test some gear for Gore, however only the stuff I choose.

Do these pants come in tall/long length?...

Do these pants come in tall/long length? I am 6'5", 38 waist, 34" inseam. Will the XL in regular length work?

They do not make this model in a long inseam however the XL does come in a 33 inseam. They could possible work for you in the regular length, and if you try them on and they do not work we can arrange for a return.

I think the XL should fit you pretty well, definitely worth a shot.

Ready to slay the pow!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs large

Really like these pants. The material seems tough and strong, ready to take on just about any thing I put them too. Lots of reinforced material in the foot cuffs.

The vents are on the outside of the thigh and run the length of my thigh, Mesh under the zipper. I would've like to have some crotch vents as well and don't care much for the mesh, I get hot easier and would like some extra airflow from time to time. I did buy these for the colder ski days, as i have a pair of non-insulated pants for warmer days, so the issues are pretty negligible.

Only 1 back pocket and 1 cargo pocket, would've prefered 2 of each, but there are enough as is, I just like lots of pockets.

Mine were larger than I expected. I am 6.2, 190 lbs. Waist 34. Went with a large, which is what the size chart said and the waist was very big. Inside the waistband, however, are adjustable velcro straps to tighten up the waist band. Along with a cool belt I am now good to go!

How do they fit in the legs?

I'm about your size and have a tough time finding pants that aren't overly baggy while still being long enough. Not a fan of the "I buy my outerwear 3 sizes too big" style, but not going anywhere near 'skinny jeans' either.
