Carry everything you need for three to five days out of town in the Patagonia MLC Wheelie Carry-On. This wheeled carry-on converts to a backpack so you can haul around this bag in whatever way is most convenient. Mud flaps fold down when you convert the MLC Wheelie to a backpack, so the wheels don't make your shirt dirty. A padded, zippered internal compartment holds your laptop for safe transport, and several other pockets hold electronics, toiletries, and other necessities. A divider separates your clean clothes from your dirty ones. Patagonia gave this bag a water-repellent finish to help ensure your gear stays dry in damp weather.

Bottom Line: The Patagonia MLC Wheelie—why have a regular rolling carry-on when you can have one that converts to a backpack too?

Pretty Darn Good

By:
August 19, 2008

On a recent trip I got my sleeping bag (Marmot Arroyo), a sleeping pad (ThermaRest ProLite 4), my rain jacket and pants, headlamp, a hat, SLR camera body and two lenses, my binocs, flip-flops, a few shirts, socks, underwear, pants, and toiletries in there. Not bad for a carry-on. Generally very-well designed. My only complaint is that the shaft that houses the telescoping handle takes up an awful lot of real estate inside the pack. But again, I was able to fit an awful lot in there...recommended.

Great luggage

By:

I own this and the larger wheeled luggage. They are both A+++ with one small problem. The original green (the larger case) is a great organic color. The MLC green does not match and is a Walmart-plastic-looking green. It makes a nice bag look kind of cheap.
