Here's what others have to say...

The Slammin' Salmon

The Slammin' Salmon

On any respectable river trip, you emerge refreshed, sunburned, dehydrated and if you're lucky...a new river identity will accompany you when you return to the daily grinds.

Any good river rat knows they must earn their nickname, and the best ones occur organically.

Fellow BC employee here Noah didn't have to do much to earn his new moniker:

Feeling comfortable, and looking GOOOOOOOOOOOD.
The Patagonia Wavefarer is the perfect companion for river success.

Noah models the 'Coral' variant in the photo above on the Colorado River near Moab, UT.

The shorts are fine, but it's really the shirt that makes that outfit.

If you are interested to know, Casey...

That shirt once belonged to my dad, the ER doc, and he used it for a work shirt around the garden for many, many years. (Hence the holey nature). You may be pleased to discover that upon closer inspection it reads:

A very comforting thought. I think I may actually wear for Halloween and dress up as a Zombie Doctor....hummmm....

Responded on

Haha that's awesome. Next time I end up in the ER I can only hope that my doc has an equally sweet shirt.

Responded on

just visit my dad -- both your wounds and your doctor uniform issues will be resolved.

Runs small.

  • Fit: Runs small

I'm a true 34" waist and I almost busted out of these things. Tight all the way around. But they looked good enough to return (which ain't no thang with BC), and order a bigger size. so, that's what I did.

Multi-use Shorts

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I wear these for everything...trail running, biking, paddling, walking, etc. They have a regular fit that is not baggy. I prefer the minimalist to the regular wavefarer because the length falls above my knees vs. below my knees with the regular wavefarer. I am 5'-10" with a 32" waist. I ordered a 32" and they fit great. The fabric is durable as you-know-what...I've busted through briars, rocks, and branches with absolutely zero issues. My body, however, shows the cuts and bruises. These are no doubt a minimal board short, but they really work for anything. These are for the active person with a live/work/play ethos who wants something durable with a classic style (read: you can go from sport to scene). I have two pairs...the black and blue, which replaced the stretch wave farer version I was wearing. I now prefer these to the stretch, which actually stretched too much over time and didn't fit anymore. My only cons are a desire for gusset crotch and more solid colors. Otherwise these are awesome, and you will not be dissapointed.
