The Patagonia Midweight Hiking Crew Socks use a combination of merino wool, nylon, polyester, and spandex to provide wicking performance and durability. Take these midweight Patagonia socks hiking, mountaineering, skiing, or snowboarding, and let them keep your feet dry and comfortable.
Bottom Line: The go-everywhere, do-everything midweight hiking sock from Patagonia.
I just bought my husband three more pair of these socks. He loves them and constantly raves about how warm and dry they keep his feet. He wears them in subzero temps and desert heat- apparently the wool keeps your feet warm and the top of the sock (top of your foot) ventilates. He's happy, I'm happy.
I originally bought a pair for running in the snow, but they are little too thick for my running shoes. For everything else they're perfect when it's cold outside. After 2 years of use they are still going strong, no signs of wearing thin.
these socks rules. I usually go with a lighter weight sock, but these wick and move moisture so well that I get the extra comfort of the thicker sock and the performance of something thinner. Had them for close to a year and they show no signs of wear - love em!

Best sock ever. Have worn them all day hiking and hunting and never got a blister or burn. Wick moisture like the Arizona sun and keep your feet fresh. Do your feet a favor and treat them to the comfort at avery decent price; no matter what activity you're involved in.
Great sock. Used for 10 straight days during an 18 day trek/climb. I never thought about my feet once (which is a good sign). They were extremely comfortable, stayed dry, and masked foot odors . . . basically everything you could ask for in a sock. I'm 5'6 and they come up just below my calf/mid-shin.
I now have 6 pair of these for my Everest climb. I have worn these socks in double plastic boots for 6 hours plus: rock climbing, cramponing, and mixed climbing - and they stayed in place! Also, no blisters!
I bought these socks about 4 months ago and have been using them in the mountains of Afghanistan alternatively with another brand that is pretty "tough". These already have holes in the heels and toes! Great for the first month but for the money I would really get a 'tough'er pair of socks!
Have three types of Patagonia hiking socks - Light,Mid and Heavyweight. For design and comfort I rate them a A+. There seems to be a major issue with them though. I don't wear them constantly, maybe a dozen times a year, so I am a little disappointed to find they seem to develope holes or tears easily. The heavyweights have not done this yet but the other weights have. This might be attributable to the fact that my foot size ( 11 1/2 ) is at the extreme end of the "Large" sock size and that they fit snug. Still, I expected a little more durable sock.
As others have mentioned, these socks are very comfortable, initially. However, after only a couple days normal wear and tear, and a washing, they're already pilling and feeling thin. Not worth the price if that's the way they're gonna hold up.
The Patagonia Midweight Hiking Crew Socks are and have been my favorite socks for some time now. They are excellent for hiking, but also do a great job as an everyday sock. Take note - they are midweight, so they might feel a bit warm if you wear them on a hot summer day. The size chart is right on - go with that. They are quite durable, as I've had mine for 11 months and they show little if any signs of wear. Highly recommended!
I bought these socks to wear hiking and to wear skiing. They are a comfortable sock that provided adequate cushion and insulation. These socks fit in an odd way. Once they are on they fit fine but they dont seem to stretch enough to just pop them on. Durability is great. I had one pair last about 2 years running double duty as ski socks and as hiking socks.
