For those days that freeze the inside of your windshield, slip on the Patagonia Micro D-Luxe 1/4-Zip Top before you put on your ski jacket. Given the dead-cold temperatures in the valley, you will definitely need the extra layer of microfleece when you feel the scary chill of the mountain’s windy summit. Once you start downhill, the stretchy, quick-drying fleece doesn’t inhibit your excited turns as you ski the best snow of the season. A high collar with a quarter-length zipper lets you control your core temperature as well as accentuate your uber-core style while you finish the day off with some beers and stories about your epic runs.

Perfect Fleece

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

This is my favorite fleece. The material is incredibly soft and warm. I can comfortably wear it with just a t-shirt underneath down to 32-35 degrees, which I find amazing because it is rather thin. It is a great layer for skiing or anything outdoors in winter, but I mostly use it just for casual use when I'm at school in fall through spring because it looks amazing as well.

You'll never want to take it off

  • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit:True to size

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my brother and he never takes the thing off. I think I'll need to get him another one this year because he likes it so much. I even have my sister saying she wants a shirt like his. It's a great layering piece. Seems like a good fit.

Great fleece top for 4 season use

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I have used this top for a full year now.

Durability: Great! Still looks like new after a wash.

Comfort: This garment firs very nicely--not too tight at all, so allows freedom of movement. The material is very soft and inviting, and for a fairly light piece it is exceptionally warm. I have used it from cooler rainy summer days, to frigid winter day long hikes as a layering top. Breathes very well. This year I took it along on a 10 day backpacking trip in October--really great for cool evenings and frosty mornings.

Looks: This fleece is really nice looking--awesome for on the trail, but also suitable as casual wear.

Conclusion: If something happened to this garment I would replace it without question--one of my favorites in my arsenal of outdoor wear--highly recommended!

Great Value

I just bought this top as a gift for my dad. I've owned (and still have) a couple of my own over the years. It's a simple design that's reasonably priced and will last forever. I use mine as a layer for skiing but they also stand their own more casually. I'm a sucker for the black style. This is a classic Patagonia piece that I'd highly recommend.

Excellent cozy top

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

This is a warm and cozy sweater that is perfect for layering on those cold days. It feels soft and fits very well on me; I'm about 5'7" and 155 lbs. and wear a size small. I wear this under my shell and I'm warm. For colder weather, I simply wear a thin base layer under this piece along with my outer shell and I'm good. I would recommend this top.

The perfect layering piece

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

If you are looking for a great layer to wear under your jacket or vest look not further. I love this top so much that I am now going order it in every color and also make it my go to gift for friends and family.

A Must Own!

Overall Great Buy

For the money, this is a fantastic multi use piece to any layering set. I have used it as a base layer under my hardshell while on the mountain, and have worn it over a t-shirt during a chilly fall day running around town. No frills about this fleece...but it is great. Overall 5 stars.

Great layering piece

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This makes a great layering piece. I use it all the time between my windstopper or rain layer just for some extra warmth. It is great for those chilly mornings or nights as well were you don't want to be carrying to much extra weight around. Just follow those care instructions so it stays day one soft ; )

My Husband & Son-In-Law Loves This!!

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is my 5th one to buy and my boys all love this Patagonia 1/4 Zip Fleece. My husband has 3 and my son-in-law 2 and they always ask for these! We have washed these over and over and they maintain their shape and color. As long as they keep selling them, I will continue to buy the different colors!!

Great Buy!!!

I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday and he loves it! So much so that he now has two. They are true to size and lightweight, great for a fall day outdoors! I would recommend hang drying it though, if you put it in the dryer it loses it's softness.

    My new favorite

I really like the TNF TKA 100 Microvelour Glacier but I like this better.

      - light but dense fleece
      - keeps me plenty warm in my 60 degree basement
      - paired it with my Marmot Ledville on a 20 degree hike today and was comfortable the entire time
      - collar stands up and is not too high
      - arm length is perfect (for me)
      - nice room in the shoulder area, can cross my arms with no stretching of fabric
      - rich color, does not look washed out
      - somewhat fitted, at first I was disappointed it was not as fitted as the TKA 100 but now I really am pleased with this cut

      Cons (real minor stuff here)
      - could cut off two inches from the hem but that is a pet peeve of mine, I don't like long shirts
      - really wish they had the dark blue color pictured but not offered

I'm 6'4" and 215 lbs, athletic and the XL fits me great.

      Warm and Awesome!

I ordered this in October and have worn it more than other fleeces I've had for years. The Synchila fabric is tremendously warm, soft and stretchy, like any good fleece should be. It's great for pretty much all winter excursions, personally I've tested it on the slopes, in the backcountry, on winter camping trips and on the town, and it served me well every time. I'm 6' 1'' and 175 lbs, so I'm usually a large sized clothing guy. The D-luxe is a tad bit large on me in the Large size, but it's nothing to get pissy about. Great product from a great brand!
