Patagonia made the Women’s Merino Sweater out of super-soft merino wool. So soft, in fact, that you might be tempted to not wear anything at all under this cardigan. Or maybe just a tank-top. Or a tee at the most, so your arms can luxuriate in the merino coziness. Big front buttons make it easy to de-layer next to the fire (assuming you do, in fact, have something on underneath), and the hip length adds uptown style. Merino naturally regulates body temperature and controls odor, so you don’t have to worry about constant washing all season.
Bottom Line: Mmm merino.

Wow! This wool sweater is amazingly soft, the fit was perfect for me. I'm 5'8", 135#, Medium was great. I picked it up on sale, and while still a bit pricey, I'm hoping it lasts forever. I like the medium-heavier weight fabric for staying warm...cause I'm always cold here in Denver in the winter. I can't give 5 stars because I don't know how it will wash yet, and the button holes seemed a bit stretched out without any wear. The other bonus, the shipping and customer service from Backcountry is OUTSTANDING! My free shipping ended up getting the sweater to me in only 3 days.

this was a little too thick and the medium size a little too big for me. It's definitely for cold days or if you keep your thermostat way down
