Merino 3 Bottom - Men's

The only thing more essential this winter than the Patagonia Men’s Merino 3 Bottom is snow, mountains, and possibly hot cocoa. Made entirely of chlorine-free merino wool, this base layer is naturally odor-resistant, soft as a baby giggle, and it keeps you warm even when soaking wet. The brushed-elastic waistband, functional fly, and offset seams combine to bring you all-day comfort whether you’re up to your knees in pow or climbing a wind-blasted rock and ice face.

Bottom Line: Warm, tough, and cozy as a cup of cocoa with marshmallows.

As much as I hate to write reviews, if you're reading this, like me, you rely a great number of them to make a buying decision. Well, I LOVE THESE bottoms! they had me at merino wool-my first experience with this brand was phenomenal, and I was back this time to order another pair not only for me, but for my wife as well. We actually purchased the tops and bottoms. I am a year round bike commuter, and once the outside temps dropped, i reached for these! all the benefits are true...the perfect base layer, they are warm and breathable. The natural antibacterial effect is REAL. I'm embarassed to say that I've had them almost 2 months and have yet to wash them. sounds "grody" if you will, but they do not stink ONE BIT! and because they are a base layer, they are not being fouled up from outside conditions. Paired with a nice windproof outer shell and you have a perfect combination down to 0 degrees (depending on your activity level). The best thing about these, and buying them here, is if they don't work out, you can send them back. These guys stand behind their satisfaction gaurantee 100% bottome line: they are worth the investment!

Worth Every Penny!

Love these things. Got them for Boarding in Breckenridge. It was January and really cold (low teens to mid twenties with strong winds and snow), but these things kept me really warm. After three full days they still did not smell at all. They fit wonderfully, not too tight, nor to loose, and feel like cotton not wool, no itch! I plan on using them when ever i go cold weather backpacking/camping as well.

Spendy, Soft, Non-smelling

The Merino 3 by Patagonia provide enough warmth for winter activities with medium to high levels of exertion or for low exertion activities in the fall. The wool is top notch and is extremely soft and does not itch at all, i've found these to be much more comfortable then cap. 3 pants. Another advantage of merino is its natural ability to remain odorless. So if you plan on going on a trip for a couple days and don't plan on washing your gear these are great. Overall a great product, but with a steap price tag. If you have the money they are definitely worth it.
